Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Chapelle’s got a new caterer, and no, it’s not the hen! Our students and faculty happily welcomed Pigeons Catering to Archbishop Chapelle’s campus for the 2025-2026 school year, and hopefully beyond! Pigeons Catering is one of the largest catering companies in Louisiana, and they know how to bring New Orleans culture and cuisine to the plate. From the infamous red beans & rice to the normal chicken nuggets and fries, everyone is fed and happy. They also bring different cultural influences to lunch, including: Greek chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and cheese ravioli rosa. Pigeons Catering has catered not only to Chapelle but also to other schools within the Archdiocese of New Orleans, like De La Salle High School, Jesuit High School of New Orleans, and Mount Carmel Academy. Chapelle is ready to board the flavor express! Pigeons Catering is an EatFitNOLA partner, which means that they not only give us delicious food, but also healthy choices. They prioritize the health and well-being of every student. This allows students to reach their nutritional needs one meal at a time. As growing young women, students need balance in their palettes. With new things comes opinion- students are able to use the new meal viewer app to not only see options for the day and nutrition facts, but also rate and review the food! This gives chipmunks the opportunity to express their thoughts and encourages others to try new items.

Students are loving the new catering. Sophomore Melody Renaudin said, “I absolutely love it! It's very delicious and of good quality. I really like the grab-and-go. It's quick and efficient.” With the grab-and-go, students are able to get fresh food like chicken wraps, salads, croissant sandwiches, Olipops, parfaits, and Oreo pudding. Not only do the students love the catering, but the faculty also loves it. Dean of Students, Ms. Smith says, “The food is delicious.” Her favorite meal is Meatballs and Marinara.  “This catering is excellent with students because they are excited about lunch. With the grab-and-go, girls can get food that is not a full meal.”  Our teachers are also getting a kick out of the food. “This was needed for Chapelle because now girls are enthusiastic for lunch. There has been a decline in the excitement for lunch, but now they are excited again!” English teacher, Ms. Hook said. One of the best things about the new catering is the brand-name products. Some of their latest products are: Olipops, Skinny-Dipped, and Oh Snap! Pickles. A new thing with the catering is the coffee bar. Students are able to get lemonade, coffee, and frappuccinos in the morning and during lunch. This is able to give the students a boost of energy for their last class. With all of these options to purchase during lunch, students are more enthusiastic to buy lunch. This has made the energy on campus increase.

Pigeons Catering
has been a huge help to our school. A handful of our faculty members have mentioned how much it was needed for the school for improvement and to bring back the excitement of lunch for the girls, as you can see in our quotes. It has been a complete shock and advantage to all of us on the Chapelle campus, how well they were able to provide us with their new cafe, hot lunches, salad and potato bar, and especially our coffee bar, making such a change for us over the past couple of years. We want to show our appreciation to Pigeons Catering for giving all of our students, faculty, and staff members a variety of options for delicious lunch, snacks, and beverages located in our cafeteria. Lunch has always been a fun and exciting part of the day for students, but now it has enhanced our lunch breaks even more. With the amazing help of our cafeteria staff, they have been able to feed our Archbishop Chapelle High School family with meals that everybody enjoys. The cafeteria staff have been welcoming students with big and bright smiles, and are always there to lend a helpful hand to everyone on campus. The students find themselves in the hot lunch line throughout the whole lunch period, excited to be served, and the girls are especially excited to be first in line. Even the teachers! Pigeons Catering's helpfulness, patience, and quality of their food have been like no other, and we sincerely appreciate them for making this change for our school. We are so happy to have healthy Chipmunks on campus!

Chipmunks Attend Close Up 2026 Six students just wrapped up an incredible week in Washington, D.C. with the Close Up Foundation. From walking the halls of Congress to debating the issues that matter most, these young leaders got a front-row seat to democracy in action. More than just monuments and museums; it was also about finding their voice and understanding their roles as citizens!

Chapelle Robotics Heads to State! Our Chapelle Robotics Team is headed to the Louisiana V5RC High School State Championship, sponsored by Venture Global! The championship will take place February 26–27, 2026, at the Louisiana Region 5 STEM Center at Lake Charles Boston Academy of Learning. This prestigious, invitation‑only event brings together the top 40 VEX V5 high school robotics teams in Louisiana to celebrate their accomplishments and compete in the 2025–2026 VEX V5 Robotics Competition. We are incredibly proud that our team has earned a spot among the state’s best! How the Competition Works 🔹 Two Days of Action Day 1: Robot inspections and qualifying matches Day 2: Skills challenges, additional qualifying rounds, alliance selections, and the final championship matches 🔹 Match Format Each match features four teams at a time. Two teams form an alliance and compete against another two‑team alliance. Working together, alliances score points by driving their robots to complete game‑specific tasks — such as moving game pieces, scoring goals, and strategically positioning their robots on the field. 🔹 The Goal Teams compete to earn high rankings during the qualifying rounds. Top‑ranked teams then select alliance partners for the elimination finals — where collaboration, strategy, innovation, and engineering excellence truly shine. Qualifying for State is an incredible achievement and a testament to the countless hours our students have dedicated to designing, building, programming, and refining their robots. We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and perseverance. Good luck to our Robotics Team as they represent Chapelle at the State Championship! 💚🤖

2026 Chapelle Makes A Difference Day 🌟 25 Agencies. One Mission. Endless Impact. 💚 Chapelle’s annual Makes A Difference Day once again brought our entire student body into the heart of the community for a day rooted in service, compassion, and purpose. This year, our Chipmunks partnered with 25 incredible organizations across Louisiana, dedicating their time and energy to meeting real needs and forming meaningful connections. From environmental stewardship and hands‑on service projects to spending time with residents, supporting teachers, organizing donations, and assisting local ministries, our students truly served as the hands and feet of Christ throughout the day. Whether offering a helping hand or simply sharing a smile and conversation, the impact was felt far beyond a single afternoon. This powerful tradition reflects the heart of a Chapelle education—forming young women who lead with faith, act with compassion, and serve with joy. We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to step beyond our campus walls to make a difference where it matters most. Physics in Action: Mrs. Blackburn’s Egg Drop Challenge 🥚 Learning came crashing down in the best way possible in Mrs. Blackburn’s physics classes as students took on a classic (and messy!) egg drop challenge designed to bring physics concepts to life. Students put momentum, impulse, and kinetic energy to the test by engineering devices meant to protect a raw egg dropped from Chapelle’s breezeway, nearly 15 feet above the ground. With no limits on materials or design, creativity ran wild and ingenuity was on full display. The results were as entertaining as they were educational. We saw eggs cushioned by loaves of bread, protected by foam enclosures, sealed inside peanut butter jars, and even suspended in a bucket of slime. Each design reflected thoughtful problem‑solving and an understanding of how force and energy interact during impact. While not every egg survived the fall, every drop was a lesson. Students analyzed what worked, what didn’t, and how their designs could improve, gaining hands‑on experience that textbooks simply can’t replicate. Some builds were especially impressive, proving that a little imagination goes a long way in science. Mrs. Blackburn’s egg drop challenge was a perfect example of how Chapelle students learn by doing, combining curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in a fun and unforgettable way.

Softball Retreat Builds Faith, Teamwork, and Season‑Ready Spirit This past weekend, Chapelle’s softball team kicked off the season with a meaningful and energizing team retreat—and they truly knocked it out of the park. The day was filled with opportunities for faith, reflection, and bonding. The retreat began with a Blessing of the Field led by Deacon Capaci, setting the tone for a season rooted in gratitude, faith, and purpose. The team then took the field for a scrimmage, followed by a series of team challenges designed to strengthen communication and trust. One of the highlights of the day was this year’s featured challenge, “Carry the Canoe: The Way.” The team worked together through 14 stations, completing both physical challenges and problem‑solving tasks at each stop. With every station, a 5‑pound weight was added to the canoe they carried—symbolizing the importance of perseverance, unity, and shared responsibility as challenges grow. In addition to the physical and mental challenges, the team spent time in reflection in the chapel, participated in team‑bonding games, and concluded the retreat by attending Mass at St. Philip Neri (SPN). The goal of the retreat was simple but powerful: to grow in Christ and grow together as a team. This weekend served as a beautiful foundation for the season ahead, strengthening not only athletic readiness but also faith and friendship. We are excited to see how this team carries these lessons onto the field throughout the season.
