Chapelle Alumnae Return to Campus for College & Sorority Panel Archbishop Chapelle High School recently welcomed back seven alumnae who returned to campus to share their college experiences and offer valuable insight to our current students. The College Panel provided an engaging and informative opportunity for students to ask questions and learn firsthand about life after Chapelle. During the panel, alumnae spoke openly about a wide range of topics—from everyday campus life and academics to time management, housing, and balancing responsibilities. Students also received helpful advice on what they can begin doing now to prepare for college, both academically and personally. Following the college discussion, students had the opportunity to participate in a Sorority Panel, where two alumnae shared their experiences with Greek life. These conversations offered insight into the recruitment process, involvement opportunities, and how sorority life can support personal growth and community building in college. College Panel Participants Louisiana State University: Marie Rohli ’23 & Sophie Panzavecchia ’25 University of Notre Dame: Savanna Corales ’25 Mississippi State University: Katie Pertuit ’24 & Olivia Myer ’25 Colorado University: Stella Merrill ’25 University of Southern Mississippi : Caroline Gutierrez ’24 Sorority Panel Participants Colleen O’Connor ’23 Harlie Stevens ’24 We are grateful to these alumnae for giving back to the Chapelle community and helping guide the next generation of Chipmunks as they prepare for their college journeys. 💖 THEY’RE BAAACK! Welcoming Home the Class of 2025 💖 There’s nothing quite like welcoming our alumnae back home—and this week, Archbishop Chapelle High School was filled with joy as the Class of 2025 returned to campus for their Yearbook Social. Our newest Chipmunk alumnae spent the morning reconnecting with classmates, sharing hugs, laughter, and flipping through their freshly printed yearbooks. Each page sparked memories of friendships formed, milestones celebrated, and unforgettable moments that defined their Chapelle journey. It was truly heartwarming to see the excitement on their faces as they reminisced and reflected on the years they spent growing, learning, and building sisterhood within our green‑and‑white halls. Seeing their smiles reminded us that while their time as students has ended, their connection to Chapelle will always remain. We are so proud of the young women they have become and grateful that Chapelle will forever be part of their story. Once a Chipmunk, always a Chipmunk!

2026 Chapelle Makes A Difference Day 🌟 25 Agencies. One Mission. Endless Impact. 💚 Chapelle’s annual Makes A Difference Day once again brought our entire student body into the heart of the community for a day rooted in service, compassion, and purpose. This year, our Chipmunks partnered with 25 incredible organizations across Louisiana, dedicating their time and energy to meeting real needs and forming meaningful connections. From environmental stewardship and hands‑on service projects to spending time with residents, supporting teachers, organizing donations, and assisting local ministries, our students truly served as the hands and feet of Christ throughout the day. Whether offering a helping hand or simply sharing a smile and conversation, the impact was felt far beyond a single afternoon. This powerful tradition reflects the heart of a Chapelle education—forming young women who lead with faith, act with compassion, and serve with joy. We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to step beyond our campus walls to make a difference where it matters most. Agencies We Served This Year: GreenLight The Woodlands Conservancy Coastal Roots Loop NOLA Covenant Nursing Home St. Margaret's at Mercy Retirement Home The Blake at Colonial Club Laurel Senior Living Chateau De Notre Dame St. Edwards School St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Good Shepherd Nativity School St. Benilde School Chateau Estates School Chartwell Center St. Michael Special School St. Therese Academy Magnolia Community Services Hotel Hope Ozanam Inn Giving Hope NOLA New Orleans Mission Hagar's House Junior League of New Orleans Diaper Bank Lantern Light Ministries We are grateful to these organizations for welcoming our students and allowing us to serve alongside them. Softball Retreat Builds Faith, Teamwork, and Season‑Ready Spirit This past weekend, Chapelle’s softball team kicked off the season with a meaningful and energizing team retreat—and they truly knocked it out of the park. The day was filled with opportunities for faith, reflection, and bonding. The retreat began with a Blessing of the Field led by Deacon Capaci, setting the tone for a season rooted in gratitude, faith, and purpose. The team then took the field for a scrimmage, followed by a series of team challenges designed to strengthen communication and trust. One of the highlights of the day was this year’s featured challenge, “Carry the Canoe: The Way.” The team worked together through 14 stations, completing both physical challenges and problem‑solving tasks at each stop. With every station, a 5‑pound weight was added to the canoe they carried—symbolizing the importance of perseverance, unity, and shared responsibility as challenges grow. In addition to the physical and mental challenges, the team spent time in reflection in the chapel, participated in team‑bonding games, and concluded the retreat by attending Mass at St. Philip Neri (SPN). The goal of the retreat was simple but powerful: to grow in Christ and grow together as a team. This weekend served as a beautiful foundation for the season ahead, strengthening not only athletic readiness but also faith and friendship. We are excited to see how this team carries these lessons onto the field throughout the season.

Our Career Engagement Speaker Series brings Chapelle alumnae back to campus to share their professional experiences and career journeys with current students.

It’s an inspiring opportunity for Chipmunks to learn firsthand about different fields, ask questions, and gain insight into future career paths — all while connecting with alumnae who once walked the same halls. We love welcoming our graduates home to guide and encourage the next generation of Chapelle women!

Personal Finance Class Welcomes Guest Speakers to Conclude Its First Year This school year marked an exciting milestone at Archbishop Chapelle High School as we introduced Personal Finance as a new elective for juniors and seniors. This foundational course will officially become a required class for all juniors beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, reflecting our commitment to equipping students with real‑world financial skills that will serve them long after graduation. Throughout the semester, students explored essential financial topics including: • Writing checks and balancing a checkbook • Reconciling accounts and navigating digital banking • Sales tax, discounts, and consumer skills • Budgeting and filing taxes • Basics of credit, debt, and financial decision‑making • Evaluating education return on investment • Financial aid and college planning • Jobs, careers, and employment essentials • Insurance fundamentals • Investing basics The course is taught by Mrs. Stacy C. Woodward ’96, who partnered with Chapelle alumna Andrea Aleman Toro '09 and Edward Jones to strengthen and modernize the curriculum. Students engaged with interactive lessons through the EVERFI online platform, allowing them to apply financial concepts in practical, relevant ways. To conclude the course, Andrea and her husband, Daniel, visited as guest speakers, sharing their professional and academic journeys while introducing students to the “Rules of the Road” and current industry trends in personal finance. They also explained the role of a financial advisor and demonstrated real‑world tools—including using AI—to explore stock analysis and the time value of money. The session wrapped up with a Q&A and a special Chick‑fil‑A lunch generously provided by the speakers. We are thrilled to offer this important course and to prepare our students with knowledge they can begin applying in their daily lives today. At Chapelle, we remain committed to empowering our young women with the skills, confidence, and understanding they need to build a successful financial future.

WWL Channel 4, in partnership with Credit Human, surprised our beloved teacher and alumna Mrs. Christina Taix ’96 with the prestigious Excel Award—an honor reserved for educators who go above and beyond to shape the future of our young people. WWL and Credit Human recognize exceptional teachers across the region for their dedication, passion, and commitment to making a difference. That remarkable honor was bestowed upon one of our very own. A Well-Deserved Recognition Mrs. Taix, who teaches with unmatched heart and enthusiasm, was presented with the award during a surprise visit from the WWL crew. Surrounded by students and colleagues, she stood proudly as she received a $2,000 award from Credit Human—an acknowledgment of the incredible impact she makes on Chapelle Chipmunks every single day. From her creative teaching methods to the genuine care she pours into each student, Mrs. Taix embodies the mission of Chapelle. She inspires her students to think deeply, work hard, and believe in themselves. Her classroom is more than a place of learning—it’s a place where young women grow in confidence, character, and curiosity. Inspiring the Next Generation As an alumna of the Class of 1996, Mrs. Taix continues the legacy of Chapelle women who lead with faith, love, and dedication. Her influence extends far beyond the walls of her classroom, and her students are a testament to the power of a teacher who truly believes in their potential. STEM Takes Flight with Alumna Speaker Shelby Frazier ’20! ✈️ The STEM Club got a high-flying dose of inspiration this week, thanks to alumna Shelby Frazier ’20, who returned to Chapelle to share her passion for aviation and engineering! Shelby led a fun, interactive presentation all about airplanes and their inner workings, teaching students how lift, drag, and thrust work together to keep planes soaring through the sky. After learning the science behind flight, the students put their knowledge to the test by designing and creating their own paper airplanes — aiming to see whose plane could travel the farthest! The results were filled with creativity, friendly competition, and lots of laughter. We’re so proud of Shelby for continuing to represent Chapelle’s values of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence in her field, and for inspiring our students to reach new heights — literally!

Career Engagement Spotlight: Jan Mau Hill ’81 💚✨ Our Career Engagement Speaker, Jan Mau Hill ’81, reminds us that faith and flexibility can lead to incredible journeys! 🌟 Jan is a talented fiction author, having published 12 novels — including a four-book young adult series and eight (and counting!) other novels in the works. Before becoming a full-time writer in 2019, Jan built an impressive career in the professional world, working in advertising at a Fortune 200 agency and in corporate marketing within the food service industry. However, she felt called to take a leap of faith and embrace her passion for storytelling — a decision that allowed her to live her dream as a published author. In her talk, Jan shared powerful wisdom with our students: “Career choices often change with age and interest — nothing in life is set in stone. Follow your path with God’s grace, and it will lead you exactly where you need to be.” 🙏 Jan’s story beautifully illustrates that success isn’t always a straight line — sometimes, with faith and courage, new chapters can lead to the most fulfilling destinations. 💚

Students interviewed alumnae, teachers, and fellow Chipmunks to ask one simple question: “How excited are you for Incarnate Word Hall?” The responses were overflowing with enthusiasm. From alumnae eager to see a new sacred space on campus, to teachers thrilled for the spiritual and educational opportunities the building will bring, to students imagining the impact on future generations—everyone shared a deep sense of pride and anticipation. Their interviews weren’t just about gathering reactions. The Word created this feature to help spread awareness and inspire support for #iGiveCatholic, a day dedicated to uplifting Catholic communities through generosity. By highlighting the shared excitement for Incarnate Word Hall, they helped show just how meaningful this project is to the entire Chapelle family. We're proud of our student journalists for using their voices to promote connection, faith, and community support. Their work reminds us that Incarnate Word Hall is more than a building—it's a promise for the future of Chapelle.
