When you become a Senior in high school, you become a lot more sentimental. To commemorate my past five years at Chapelle, I've asked each teacher I've had class with -eighth to twelfth grade- “What is your favorite song or a song that represents you in some way?” I have gotten lots of interesting responses; however, I'm sure there is at least a song or two that you might recognize. So, whether you are an incoming eighth grader trying to feel out the vibes of your new teachers or if you have been attending Chapelle and just want to learn something new, I curated a playlist with all the submitted songs, just for you! A lot of my teachers in previous years have since left Chapelle, but they will always be remembered, especially through my own submission of “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion, widely known as the Titanic love song. Each of these amazing teachers will wiggle their way into your heart, and after listening to the playlist, I encourage you to spark a conversation with them.

Now the playlist itself does not have a special order; however, the list is included with each teacher’s last name and song. During the interviews on campus, a lot of teachers let their personalities shine. For instance, when interviewing Mrs. Savoie, she shared a personal story of standing up and singing for everyone at an archdiocesan meeting. Quote, “Right then, over 3,000 people of different ages and backgrounds stood up and belted out 'Livin' on a Prayer,' and for a minute, we were all connected and having fun.- This song holds the power to bring people together.” Mrs. Savoie continues by sharing her love for how music can connect strangers into friends. “On a deeper level, I feel connected to this song because of its message: no matter what struggles life throws our way, we can get through them with support from the people who love us. So, this song reminds me that we aren't meant to do life alone; when someone offers us a hand, we need to take it. If we do, we can make it through anything.”  Mrs. Savoie is known throughout the student body for her loving demeanor and her care for attention to detail. She is also the moderator for the CARE club and has been for the past 6 years. Other teachers surprised me, Mr. Roddy, for example, introduced me to a new genre of music, “space rock. ”  The song he chose truly matches his dark academia English teacher aesthetic. Similarly, Mrs. Krajcer’s favorite song is “I wanna Dance with Somebody.” When asked why, she responds, “It always puts me in a good mood when I'm down!” This happy-go-lucky history teacher is never without a smile on her face! In contrast, some teachers chose songs that surprised everyone during the interview; Specifically, Mrs. Chokr, who teaches French 1 and 2. She is well known for her classy French accent and celebrity-worthy outfits, but to our surprise, her favorite song is “Hotel California” by the Eagles. Mrs. Hook was very passionate about her favorite song, connecting it to the Apollo 11 mission. “My reasons for loving this song are: A. The lyrics are so romantic, clever, and beautiful, B. It is danceable, a fun song for some old-fashioned dancing at a wedding, party, etc. C. I LOVE its connection to the NASA Space Program. It was the first song played on the moon! (Buzz Aldrin played it on the Apollo 11 mission.)” Each of the songs represents our teachers at Chapelle in some way.

While my time at Chapelle comes to an end, I'm glad I could share this playlist with everyone, new, incoming, alumni, and the student body.  Thanks, Chapelle, for the amazing high school career you have offered me.

Chapelle Shares Gratitude Through 2025 Thanksgiving Baskets 🦃🧺 The spirit of giving was alive and overflowing at Archbishop Chapelle High School this Thanksgiving season! As part of our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive, students, faculty, and staff worked together to create beautiful baskets filled with food and essentials for families in need. This year, the baskets were donated to the St. Mary Magdalen Food Pantry as well as six other families in our Chapelle community. Each Burrow, along with members of the faculty and staff, completed a full basket — totaling over 40 baskets donated! In addition, the Chapelle family collected more than 600 items as part of the drive. This service effort beautifully reflects the mission of our Matthew 25 Service Program, which reminds us of Christ’s words: “...we see you hungry and feed you.” We are so proud of our Chipmunks for living out their faith through compassion, generosity, and action. Because of your kindness, many families will experience comfort, hope, and joy this Thanksgiving season.

12th Grade Grandparents Day: A Cherished Chapelle Tradition The Class of 2025 celebrated a beautiful 12th Grade Grandparents Day filled with faith, family, and gratitude. The day began with a heartfelt Mass honoring the special role grandparents play in our lives and in shaping our faith. Following the celebration, seniors and their grandparents enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the Parents Club — complete with laughter, stories, and plenty of hugs. This celebration was especially meaningful as it marked the seniors’ final Grandparents Day as Chapelle Chipmunks. It was a wonderful reminder of the love, support, and traditions that make our community so strong. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing community of grandparents who nurture and inspire our students with faith, wisdom, and unconditional love.

STEM Takes Flight with Alumna Speaker Shelby Frazier ’20! ✈️ The STEM Club got a high-flying dose of inspiration this week, thanks to alumna Shelby Frazier ’20, who returned to Chapelle to share her passion for aviation and engineering! Shelby led a fun, interactive presentation all about airplanes and their inner workings, teaching students how lift, drag, and thrust work together to keep planes soaring through the sky. After learning the science behind flight, the students put their knowledge to the test by designing and creating their own paper airplanes — aiming to see whose plane could travel the farthest! The results were filled with creativity, friendly competition, and lots of laughter. We’re so proud of Shelby for continuing to represent Chapelle’s values of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence in her field, and for inspiring our students to reach new heights — literally!
