The Word Shares the Excitement for Incarnate Word Hall Ahead of #iGiveCatholic Day 💚✨ In the spirit of community, generosity, and Chapelle pride, members of The Word, Archbishop Chapelle High School’s official student newspaper, set out this week to capture the voices behind the excitement for Incarnate Word Hall—our future Chapel and Theology wing. Students interviewed alumnae, teachers, and fellow Chipmunks to ask one simple question: “How excited are you for Incarnate Word Hall?” The responses were overflowing with enthusiasm. From alumnae eager to see a new sacred space on campus, to teachers thrilled for the spiritual and educational opportunities the building will bring, to students imagining the impact on future generations—everyone shared a deep sense of pride and anticipation. Their interviews weren’t just about gathering reactions. The Word created this feature to help spread awareness and inspire support for #iGiveCatholic, a day dedicated to uplifting Catholic communities through generosity. By highlighting the shared excitement for Incarnate Word Hall, they helped show just how meaningful this project is to the entire Chapelle family. We're proud of our student journalists for using their voices to promote connection, faith, and community support. Their work reminds us that Incarnate Word Hall is more than a building—it's a promise for the future of Chapelle.

Celebrating Excellence: Mrs. Christina Taix ’96 Receives the WWL Channel 4 Excel Award, Presented by Credit Human 💚🍎 Archbishop Chapelle High School is thrilled to celebrate a truly special moment in our community! WWL Channel 4, in partnership with Credit Human, surprised our beloved teacher and alumna Mrs. Christina Taix ’96 with the prestigious Excel Award—an honor reserved for educators who go above and beyond to shape the future of our young people. WWL and Credit Human recognize exceptional teachers across the region for their dedication, passion, and commitment to making a difference. That remarkable honor was bestowed upon one of our very own. A Well-Deserved Recognition Mrs. Taix, who teaches with unmatched heart and enthusiasm, was presented with the award during a surprise visit from the WWL crew. Surrounded by students and colleagues, she stood proudly as she received a $2,000 award from Credit Human—an acknowledgment of the incredible impact she makes on Chapelle Chipmunks every single day. From her creative teaching methods to the genuine care she pours into each student, Mrs. Taix embodies the mission of Chapelle. She inspires her students to think deeply, work hard, and believe in themselves. Her classroom is more than a place of learning—it’s a place where young women grow in confidence, character, and curiosity. Inspiring the Next Generation As an alumna of the Class of 1996, Mrs. Taix continues the legacy of Chapelle women who lead with faith, love, and dedication. Her influence extends far beyond the walls of her classroom, and her students are a testament to the power of a teacher who truly believes in their potential. We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Taix and grateful to WWL Channel 4 and Credit Human for recognizing the tremendous work she does. Congratulations, Mrs. Taix! Thank you for everything you do to inspire, educate, and empower the young women of Archbishop Chapelle High School. You are a shining example of what it means to be Loyal to Green and White, and we are so blessed to have you in our Chapelle family.

Chapelle Shares Gratitude Through 2025 Thanksgiving Baskets 🦃🧺 The spirit of giving was alive and overflowing at Archbishop Chapelle High School this Thanksgiving season! As part of our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive, students, faculty, and staff worked together to create beautiful baskets filled with food and essentials for families in need. This year, the baskets were donated to the St. Mary Magdalen Food Pantry as well as six other families in our Chapelle community. Each Burrow, along with members of the faculty and staff, completed a full basket — totaling over 40 baskets donated! In addition, the Chapelle family collected more than 600 items as part of the drive. This service effort beautifully reflects the mission of our Matthew 25 Service Program, which reminds us of Christ’s words: “...we see you hungry and feed you.” We are so proud of our Chipmunks for living out their faith through compassion, generosity, and action. Because of your kindness, many families will experience comfort, hope, and joy this Thanksgiving season.

12th Grade Grandparents Day: A Cherished Chapelle Tradition The Class of 2025 celebrated a beautiful 12th Grade Grandparents Day filled with faith, family, and gratitude. The day began with a heartfelt Mass honoring the special role grandparents play in our lives and in shaping our faith. Following the celebration, seniors and their grandparents enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the Parents Club — complete with laughter, stories, and plenty of hugs. This celebration was especially meaningful as it marked the seniors’ final Grandparents Day as Chapelle Chipmunks. It was a wonderful reminder of the love, support, and traditions that make our community so strong. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing community of grandparents who nurture and inspire our students with faith, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Our first annual Foreign Language Festival was a hit! Members of our National French Honor Society contributed by bringing French food, such as macarons, crêpes, and croissants, which were enjoyed by all. One student, Lauren de la Gardelle, created a French festival banner that hung over our presentation of the treats. Some of the activities we had included dressing up and taking fun pictures with friends, enjoying delicious treats, wearing funny mustaches, and playing a game called The Stolen Jewels from the Louvre. The person who found the crown won a delicious Bourdin cheese. Members of our National Spanish Honor Society contributed by bringing Spanish food, such as chips & queso and guacamole, which our students could not get enough of. The activity that they shared with the student body was Zumba. So many students enjoyed getting some exercise while doing some Spanish dance moves and listening to Spanish music. We loved our time with @gina.zumba.nola. Members of our National Junior Classical League contributed by bringing an ancient Greek and Roman inspired photobooth! Students had an opportunity to take pictures with friends while learning more about Greek and Roman culture. Members also brought Spanish food and French food to collaborate with our modern languages. All three organizations, as well as Chips Around Japan, displayed their club boards to share their cultures and inspire the student body. Overall, our goal for the first Foreign Language Festival was simply to spread the beauty of different cultures to the entire student body, and we definitely achieved that!

Sweet Moments in the Baking Club! The Chapelle Baking Club filled the air with delicious aromas and even sweeter smiles during their most recent meeting! 💚 Members rolled up their sleeves and got creative in the kitchen, whipping up brownies, pumpkin spice cookies, and rice crispy treats — the perfect combination of chocolatey, cozy, and classic. The afternoon was full of laughter, teamwork, and taste-testing (of course!). The Baking Club continues to be a fun way for students to bond, learn new recipes, and share their Chapelle spirit — one treat at a time! 💚 We can’t wait to see (and taste!) what they bake up next!

Chapelle Duck Scavenger Hunt🧡 The Chapelle community had a quacking good time celebrating Coach JoDee, who was recently named Smalls Sliders’ Small Town Hero! To help mark this amazing recognition, Drew Brees and his Smalls Sliders team gifted Chapelle with a fun surprise — a campus-wide duck hunt! Scattered across Chapelle’s campus were mini ducks, each with a special prize on the bottom such as free queso, free drink, or free side of fries. And hidden among them was one very special giant duck that offered the ultimate reward: free Smalls Sliders for an entire month! The lucky finder of the golden duck was 10th grader Sarah Cosentino! 🏆 Congratulations, Sarah — and great job to all the students who joined the fun and found ducks throughout the day! It was a joyful (and delicious!) way to celebrate Coach JoDee’s incredible honor and show how one person’s inspirational leadership can bring so much positivity to our community. 💚
