On August 20, all of the new Chipmunks experienced their first club fair at Chapelle! At Chapelle, clubs offer students an opportunity to discover new interests and participate in activities that involve interacting and meeting new people. Chapelle offers a wide variety of clubs for students to enjoy, some of which include: CARE (Chapelle Animal Rescue Club), Robotics, STEM, Chapters with Chipmunks, Mock Trial, Quiz Bowl, Music Appreciation, NJHS, ASL, Thalians, etc.

After several interviews it can be concluded that there really is a club for everyone and no one will be having any problems finding one that suits their interests. Every year there are a few clubs that stand out, some of which include: CARE, Baking Club, Music Appreciation, and Chapter with Chipmunks.

CARE works with ARNO (Animal Rescue New Orleans) and engages students in activities like making dog beds, creating pet portraits to raise money, blessing students’ very own pets, and other efforts to help shelters.

Chapters with Chipmunks is a book club that everyone can enjoy whether you are an avid reader or just enjoy a good story. All members vote on one of two books to read and discuss at the next meeting. Last year began with a free read and then some of the books voted on included Artifice and Win Lose Kill Die.

Music Appreciation allows students to experiment with musical technology, songwriting, and various instruments such as the ukulele or guitar. The club had an exciting guest speaker last year from Disney’s very own Imagination Movers!

Baking Club, a new addition to this year’s lineup, aims to introduce students to the wonderful world of baking by teaching them different techniques to make the very best treats! Although no one is quite sure what to expect for this club it sure will be sweet!

After interviewing some of the new chipmunks about what clubs they would like to join, this is what they had to say:

“I like reading, so I joined Chapters with Chipmunks. I was in NJHS at my old school so I want to do that. Also, CARE because I love dogs!” - Ella Matherne

“I was in Pro-Life in grammar school and I helped out at the animal shelter. I want to have a chance to help more people,” - Siena Scozzari

“I want to join Chips for Life, ASL, Baking Club, Thalians, and Chips Around Japan. They all were very appealing and they had most of my favorite interests.” - Clara Erdozoin

As the Club Fair comes to an end, the new chips finalize their decisions and are excited to pick out their choice of clubs to join.
