Senior Maylee Reese Awarded Swing Hard for Soldiers Scholarship Archbishop Chapelle High School is proud to announce that senior Maylee Reese has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Swing Hard for Soldiers Scholarship, an honor presented through the Kelly Gibson Foundation. This year, the Foundation—along with its community partners—awarded $60,000 in college scholarships to 20 students who are children or direct descendants of active-duty military members and veterans from across all branches, including the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, and National Guard. Scholarships are granted annually to high school and college students based on academic achievement, community service, financial need, and thoughtful essay responses. Recipients were recognized at the Swing Hard for Soldiers Golf Tournament, presented by the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust and the Kelly Gibson Foundation. We are thrilled to share that Maylee Reese was awarded the $3,000 Oscar J. Tolmas Memorial Scholarship. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to service exemplify the values we strive to cultivate at Chapelle.  Please join us in congratulating Maylee on this outstanding accomplishment! Chapelle and Rummel Partner in Ministry to Lead Retreats Across the Community ✝️❤️ This year, the Campus Ministry Teams of Archbishop Chapelle High School and Archbishop Rummel High School continued a powerful tradition of faith in action by partnering to host retreats for several local grade schools. Together, our student ministers helped lead retreats at St. Therese Academy, St. Matthew the Apostle, and St. Philip Neri—bringing joy, witness, and the message of Christ to younger students across the community. Each retreat is thoughtfully planned through a collaboration between Chapelle’s Director of Campus Ministry, Emily Lannan, Rummel’s Campus Minister, and the partnering grade school. In the weeks leading up to each retreat, our campus ministers work closely with school leaders to choose a theme and design a day filled with meaningful content—complete with talks, testimonies, small groups, and interactive games. Before each retreat, the Chapelle and Rummel Campus Ministry Teams come together to prepare spiritually and practically. Students develop personal testimonies, plan activities, and pray intentionally for the younger students who will be attending. At the heart of this partnership is one shared mission: evangelization. Just as with our own retreats at Chapelle, our goal is to help make Jesus more known, loved, and served—not only in the grade schools we visit, but also within the hearts of the students who lead. Retreat ministry is transformative for our student leaders. Serving as witnesses deepens their faith, strengthens their confidence, and reminds them of the incredible impact they can have on the Church and the world. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with our brother school and to continue fostering a spirit of discipleship throughout the greater Catholic community. May God continue to bless the work of our Campus Ministry Teams.

Chapelle Junior Allisson Suazo Called Up to the Honduras National Team! ⚽️ The Chapelle community is incredibly proud to celebrate junior Allisson Suazo, whose hard work, dedication, and talent on the soccer field have earned her an international honor: a call‑up to the Honduras Women’s National Team. Allisson represented Honduras in the March World Cup Qualifiers and again this past November in the UNCAF Tournament held in Managua, Nicaragua. Competing at this level is a remarkable achievement, showcasing her commitment to excellence and her passion for the sport. We are so proud of Allisson for representing both her heritage and her school on the international stage. Her accomplishments highlight what it means to live out Chapelle’s values on and off the field. Congratulations, Allisson! Your Chapelle family is cheering you on every step of the way.

Named in honor of Ms. Linda Munn, beloved teacher and coach at Chapelle for more than three decades, the award celebrates the very qualities she modeled throughout her career. Freshman Ava Braendel Breaks Chapelle Swimming Record! 💚🏊‍♀️ The Chapelle community is celebrating an incredible achievement in the pool! 9th grader Ava Braendel has officially set a new school record in the 50 Free with an outstanding time of 24.85 seconds. Ava’s performance breaks the previous record of 24.89, held by Pandora Domalis since 2003 — a record that stood strong for over two decades! Her hard work, dedication, and determination continue to shine, and we could not be more proud of her accomplishment.  Congratulations, Ava, on making Chapelle history! We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

Chapelle Junior Lyla Pelle Crowned Miss Dance of Louisiana 2026! The Chapelle community is proud to celebrate Junior Lyla Pelle, who has been officially crowned Miss Dance of Louisiana 2026 — an extraordinary accomplishment showcasing her talent, discipline, and passion for dance. To earn this prestigious title, Lyla competed in a series of challenging components, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acro classes, as well as Interview and solo performance scores. Her excellence across all areas earned her the top honor and the opportunity of a lifetime. This summer, Lyla will represent the Louisiana Association of Dance Masters (LADM) at Dance Masters of America, where she will compete nationally for the title of Miss Dance of America 2026 in Connecticut. Lyla’s achievement is even more special as she follows in her mother’s footsteps — her mom, a Chapelle alumna from the Class of 1992, was also crowned Miss Dance of Louisiana 1992. A beautiful legacy of grace and dedication continues! At Chapelle, Lyla shines not only in the studio but also on campus as a dedicated member and Treasurer of the Chapellettes Dance Team. We are incredibly proud of you, Lyla, and we can’t wait to cheer you on as you represent Louisiana — and Chapelle — on the national stage!

The Word Shares the Excitement for Incarnate Word Hall Ahead of #iGiveCatholic Day 💚✨ In the spirit of community, generosity, and Chapelle pride, members of The Word, Archbishop Chapelle High School’s official student newspaper, set out this week to capture the voices behind the excitement for Incarnate Word Hall—our future Chapel and Theology wing. Students interviewed alumnae, teachers, and fellow Chipmunks to ask one simple question: “How excited are you for Incarnate Word Hall?” The responses were overflowing with enthusiasm. From alumnae eager to see a new sacred space on campus, to teachers thrilled for the spiritual and educational opportunities the building will bring, to students imagining the impact on future generations—everyone shared a deep sense of pride and anticipation. Their interviews weren’t just about gathering reactions. The Word created this feature to help spread awareness and inspire support for #iGiveCatholic, a day dedicated to uplifting Catholic communities through generosity. By highlighting the shared excitement for Incarnate Word Hall, they helped show just how meaningful this project is to the entire Chapelle family.  We're proud of our student journalists for using their voices to promote connection, faith, and community support.
