Our first annual Foreign Language Festival was a hit!
Members of our National French Honor Society contributed by bringing French food, such as macarons, crêpes, and croissants, which were enjoyed by all. One student, Lauren de la Gardelle, created a French festival banner that hung over our presentation of the treats. Some of the activities we had included dressing up and taking fun pictures with friends, enjoying delicious treats, wearing funny mustaches, and playing a game called The Stolen Jewels from the Louvre. The person who found the crown won a delicious Bourdin cheese.
Members of our National Spanish Honor Society contributed by bringing Spanish food, such as chips & queso and guacamole, which our students could not get enough of. The activity that they shared with the student body was Zumba. So many students enjoyed getting some exercise while doing some Spanish dance moves and listening to Spanish music. We loved our time with @gina.zumba.nola.
Members of our National Junior Classical League contributed by bringing an ancient Greek and Roman inspired photobooth! Students had an opportunity to take pictures with friends while learning more about Greek and Roman culture. Members also brought Spanish food and French food to collaborate with our modern languages.
All three organizations, as well as Chips Around Japan, displayed their club boards to share their cultures and inspire the student body.
Overall, our goal for the first Foreign Language Festival was simply to spread the beauty of different cultures to the entire student body, and we definitely achieved that!

Art 4A Brings History to Life with Cyanotype Printing 💙📷 In Art 4A, our first‑period artists are stepping back in time—170 years, to be exact—as they explore the beautiful and historic process of cyanotype printing. This early photographic method produces images in a rich, dark greenish‑blue tone known as cyan, a color that has captivated photographers and artists for generations. Cyanotype printing operates much like traditional 35mm film development. To begin, students design their own photo negatives in Adobe Photoshop, blending modern digital creativity with classic photographic techniques. These negatives are then placed onto paper coated with a special cyanotype solution. When exposed to UV light, the images begin to develop—just like film. The final step is the most magical: rinsing the prints under water. As the solution reacts, their images slowly emerge in striking shades of blue, revealing artwork that feels both vintage and innovative. This project is a perfect fusion of old and new, giving students a hands‑on understanding of photographic history while allowing them to express their creativity through modern digital tools. Art 4A is truly bringing the past to life—one cyan‑blue print at a time.

Chapelle and Rummel Partner in Ministry to Lead Retreats Across the Community ✝️❤️ This year, the Campus Ministry Teams of Archbishop Chapelle High School and Archbishop Rummel High School continued a powerful tradition of faith in action by partnering to host retreats for several local grade schools. Together, our student ministers helped lead retreats at St. Therese Academy, St. Matthew the Apostle, and St. Philip Neri—bringing joy, witness, and the message of Christ to younger students across the community. Each retreat is thoughtfully planned through a collaboration between Chapelle’s Director of Campus Ministry, Emily Lannan, Rummel’s Campus Minister, and the partnering grade school. In the weeks leading up to each retreat, our campus ministers work closely with school leaders to choose a theme and design a day filled with meaningful content—complete with talks, testimonies, small groups, and interactive games. Before each retreat, the Chapelle and Rummel Campus Ministry Teams come together to prepare spiritually and practically. Students develop personal testimonies, plan activities, and pray intentionally for the younger students who will be attending. At the heart of this partnership is one shared mission: evangelization. Just as with our own retreats at Chapelle, our goal is to help make Jesus more known, loved, and served—not only in the grade schools we visit, but also within the hearts of the students who lead. Retreat ministry is transformative for our student leaders. Serving as witnesses deepens their faith, strengthens their confidence, and reminds them of the incredible impact they can have on the Church and the world. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with our brother school and to continue fostering a spirit of discipleship throughout the greater Catholic community. May God continue to bless the work of our Campus Ministry Teams.
