Mr. Troy Roddy Brings Learning to Life with Interactive True Crime Project This year, Mr. Troy Roddy introduced an innovative and personalized project to his AP Language and Composition and English IV Honors students, blending academic rigor with creative engagement. As part of his newly earned Master’s in Education with a focus on Learning Experience Design , Mr. Roddy designed an interactive e-learning module that brought the excitement of True Crime into the classroom. The Project: Who Stole the Crown and Sash? The assignment asked students to explore a fictional crime, analyze evidence, and argue, defend, or qualify the guilt or innocence of one of three suspects. Using critical thinking and argumentation skills, students worked through the scenario while staying true to their curriculum. Objective : The students were tasked with mastering the ability to argue, defend, or qualify their position on the suspects’ guilt or innocence, honing their persuasive writing and reasoning skills in the process. Making Learning Personal and Fun Mr. Roddy’s goal was to create a lesson that felt personal, engaging, and relevant to his students. Knowing many of them are fans of true crime, he designed a lighthearted yet rigorous activity that incorporated their interests. Here’s how he made it special: School Culture & Catholic Identity : Mr. Roddy took pictures around the school and used AI to redesign them with a unique Comic Detective Noir feel, seamlessly integrating Chapelle’s culture and values. Favorite Teachers as Characters : Students were delighted to see their favorite teachers woven into the storyline! Interactive Environment : The module mimicked exploring the school, creating a fully immersive experience. Sense of Humor : Mr. Roddy’s signature humor added fun and personality to the project. The Five E’s of Learning Design To ensure a high-quality e-learning experience, Mr. Roddy followed the Five E’s of Learning Design : Engage : Students were hooked by the True Crime theme and the personalized school setting. Explore : The interactive module encouraged them to investigate evidence and suspects. Explain : Clear instructions guided students on how to craft their arguments. Elaborate : Students applied their skills to defend their positions. Evaluate : The final step involved presenting and justifying their conclusions. A Learning Experience Tailored for Chapelle Mr. Roddy explained the significance of personalized learning in his project: “Learning Experience Design is all about making personalized, relevant learning experiences tailored to our students’ learning preferences. I wanted to integrate our Catholic identity, school culture, and the students’ interests into one seamless experience.” An Exciting Future for E-Learning at Chapelle This project is just the beginning of how Mr. Roddy plans to use his expertise in Learning Experience Design to create interactive and meaningful lessons. By combining technology, creativity, and Chapelle’s unique culture, he’s redefining what it means to engage students in the classroom. Congratulations, Mr. Roddy, on this incredible accomplishment, and thank you for bringing such an exciting and innovative learning experience to our students!

With hearts on fire for Christ, students from Archbishop Rummel High School and Archbishop Chapelle High School came together to serve the people of San Marcos Village in Belize. This past May, students and faculty worked side by side to build school kitchen walls, paint classrooms, visit the sick, lead a youth retreat, and celebrate the sacraments, bringing the love of Jesus to the heart of the community. This mission was more than service. It was an encounter with Christ through faith, community, and service. We humbly ask for your continued prayers and support for our Belize Mission.

From keeping the game running smoothly to representing Chapelle with poise, they truly go above and beyond in everything they do. 💚 Thank You to Our Volleyball Managers! Chapelle Bowling Shines at Capitol City Strike Out Although Archbishop Chapelle’s bowling season officially kicks off in January, several members of the Chapelle Bowling Team wasted no time making their mark at the first individual tournament of the year. Over Labor Day Weekend, five of our talented Chipmunks traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the Capitol City Strike Out , an annual event that draws some of the state’s finest young bowlers and marks the start of the youth bowling calendar. A Strong Showing in Baton Rouge Among the 80 competitors , Chapelle proudly fielded five dedicated bowlers who competed in both the U15 and U18 Girls Divisions , representing our school with skill, determination, and Chapelle pride. U15 Girls/Boys Division Brynn Caire (8th Grade) and Kristin Munch (Sophomore) competed in the U15 Division, delivering commendable performances in the intense 8-game qualifier. While they did not advance to the Sunday playoffs, both demonstrated impressive potential and gained valuable experience for the season ahead. U18 Girls Division In the highly competitive U18 Girls Division, Taylor Bourdonnay (Junior) , Addison Belle (Junior) , and Alexandra Young (Senior) brought grit and determination to the lanes: Taylor finished Saturday’s 8-game qualifier in 15th place, just shy of the playoff cut. Addison and Alexandra shined, finishing in 5th and 6th place , respectively, securing their spots in the Sunday playoffs . Addison led all Chapelle bowlers with an impressive 190 average per game during the qualifiers. Sunday Playoff Highlights: A Chipmunk Showdown The Sunday playoff followed a double-elimination bracket format , and both Addison and Alexandra delivered performances that captured the competitive spirit of Chapelle Bowling: After a tough start, both were sent to the loser’s bracket in the first round. In their second games, Addison eliminated the #2 seed, while Alexandra ousted the #1 seed—a testament to their resilience and focus. This set up an all-Chipmunk match for 4th place , where Addison won the first game with a stunning score of 212 . Alexandra, however, bounced back to win the second game and the total pin count, advancing her to the 3rd place match . Alexandra’s Run to the Finals Facing Ava Doucet from St. Joseph’s in Baton Rouge, Alexandra delivered clutch performances, winning with scores of 213 and 237 to advance to the championship match. In the finals, she faced Caroline Engeron from Albany. Despite Alexandra’s impressive scores of 188 and 207 , Caroline’s exceptional average of 230 per game earned her the title. Alexandra proudly finished in 2nd place , earning a $245 scholarship and maintaining a remarkable 201 average over ten games on Sunday. Celebrating Our Chipmunks All five bowlers represented Chapelle with excellence, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the weekend. Notably, Chapelle was the only school with more than one qualifier in the U18 Girls Division—a true testament to the strength of our bowling program. We are incredibly proud of each of these young women for their hard work and dedication. Their performances in Baton Rouge are just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting bowling season for Archbishop Chapelle! 💚 Congratulations to Brynn, Kristin, Taylor, Addison, and Alexandra! You’ve made your Chapelle family proud! 💚
