On August 9th, new and returning chips came to Chapelle to prepare themselves for the new year ahead. They came in early Friday morning surrounded by family and fellow chipmunks, picture ready for their id photos. Faculty and Staff were excited to return on campus and check their students in. Mrs. Woodward explained her favorite part of check in day was the big/lil sis reveal by saying “I really liked how we did big/lil sis reveal this year and how excited the 8th graders got when seeing who their big sis was”. Students received new information and excited themselves for the upcoming year with all the new things they received.

The seniors are looking pretty in pink as they got their sweatshirts and bows. They also received their temporary rings as they anticipate ring mass. Speaking of rings, the juniors got the opportunity to customize and order their senior rings for next year! As these chips are growing up, we had some new chips joining the Chapelle community. The 8th graders were welcomed to the community by the seniors, who are their big sis. They had their bonding time by having big/lil sis lunch and pep-rally. We loved seeing everyone on campus again after a long summer break and can't wait to see what the upcoming year brings these chips!

Recapping a Great Summer

This summer, Molly hit the court in a big way—literally! While playing travel basketball, she participated in a 3-point shooting competition during one of her tournaments. The contest brought together about 15 talented high school players from across Louisiana and Mississippi, each ready to show off their shooting skills. When the final buzzer sounded, Molly had made the most 3-pointers out of the entire group, securing her spot as the champion! Her sharp shooting earned her not just bragging rights, but also a championship ring and a $400 prize. We are so proud of Molly for this exciting achievement! We cannot wait to see her in the Burrow this year representing Archbishop Chapelle High School on the basketball court!

We are thrilled to share exciting news about one of our own, Kyla Wilson '29, whose dedication, skill, and perseverance have earned her a spot on the international stage! This past June, at the USA Gymnastics Nationals, Kyla was selected to represent the United States at the South Tyneside International Acro Cup in Great Britain this October. This prestigious competition will bring together top athletes from around the world, and Kyla will proudly compete as part of Team USA. Kyla’s journey to this moment has been years in the making. Countless hours of training, discipline, and determination have shaped her into the exceptional gymnast she is today. Her selection is not only a testament to her incredible talent but also to her resilience and love for the sport. We are so proud of Kyla and cannot wait to cheer her on as she takes the floor in Great Britain.
