Safety

For the safety of our Chapelle students, faculty and staff, we have upgraded the campus gate system. Beginning on Tuesday, January 21, the perimeter of Chapelle’s campus will be secured daily from 8:30am – 2:45pm. Access to campus will be through the Montana Avenue gate (near the flagpole) during the school day. You must pull up to the Montana Avenue touchpad and press the silver button to speak with front office. Once you have identified yourself, the gate will be opened for you to enter campus. You must come directly to the front office after parking. When exiting campus, pull directly up to the same gate. As you approach the gate, it will automatically open, and it will automatically close after you exit. Thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on the safety of our campus.

Thank you for entrusting your daughters in our care.

Bibles

For the past several years, all students have received a Bible that is used in their Theology classes. All students were sent a google form this week asking if they need a new Bible for next school year. This is in case anyone has lost their Bible, or if their Bible has been damaged beyond repair and the students need a new one. As a reminder, the Bible is required for all Theology classes at Archbishop Chapelle High School.

The Bibles are typically $49.95; however, you can receive one at a discounted price since we are making a bulk order; so this would be cheaper than having to go purchase one individually! The Bibles will cost $25. Please talk to your daughters and ask them if they need a new Bible! Here is a link to the Bible that we are using at Archbishop Chapelle High School if you'd like to take a look: https://ignatius.com/ignatius-bible-rsv-2nd-edition-leather-ibl2p/. Here is the link to the Google Form in case they have not completed it yet: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScwGhd3-aBpUva2k5xZaok6FXBuMRsBOFqX49Br_FIpEGn9Rw/viewform?usp=header

There is currently an option to purchase the Bibles through the Gulf Coast tuition portal. The option to purchase a Bible will close on Tuesday, May 27th. Again, this is for anyone who has lost their Bible or if their Bible is damaged beyond repair and needs a new one! If you have any questions, please contact Gavin Matherne: gmatherne@archbishopchapelle.org.

Thank you!

Hallow

Last year, we partnered with Hallow, an amazing online resource for prayer that the students can use in the classroom and in their own personal lives! Having Hallow was a great opportunity that I know many of our students took advantage of. Between the faculty, staff, and students, the Archbishop Chapelle community prayed over 11,000 prayers on Hallow last year!

I am happy to say that we are partnering with Hallow again this year! Every single student will have full access to a Hallow account through their achschipmunks email. They should have, or soon will be receiving an email from Hallow with more information on how to log into their accounts. The students can access Hallow through the web browser on their chromebooks, or they can also download the app on their smartphones if they have one. We will be using Hallow in the Theology classes this year, so it is important that every student knows how to access their accounts.

Parents, Hallow also generously offers a free trial for you! Be on the lookout for more information in the future!

If you have any questions about Hallow, please contact Mr. Gavin Matherne.

Know that we are praying for you!

Bullying/Harassment Policy

Bullying is a distinctive pattern of repeatedly and deliberately harming and humiliating others and is characterized by a power imbalance between the two parties. Bullying includes, but is not limited to physical or verbal aggression, relational aggression, or emotional aggression (teasing, threatening, and intimidating others). Relational aggression (RA), is a form of indirect bullying that uses social relationships to manipulate or harm others, such as isolating a student from her group of friends (social exclusion), threatening to stop talking to a friend (the ''silent treatment''), or spreading gossip and rumors. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, slurs, jokes, comments, or other offensive conduct relating to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. Bullying, relational aggression (including cyber-bullying), and harassment will not be tolerated. Please use the forms below to report bullying.

Presenting Our Gift to the Gayle & Tom Benson Cancer Center 💗💚 In April, Mrs. Benson personally invited our students to the Gayle & Tom Benson Cancer Center to present our Pink Month earnings to their leadership team. Walking into the Cancer Center with Mrs. Benson was a powerful experience for our students. It was more than just delivering a check. It was an opportunity to represent the heart of the Chapelle community and to see firsthand the impact of their efforts. Sharing that moment with the leadership team made the months of preparation and fundraising even more meaningful. Throughout Pink Month, our students worked tirelessly to raise funds in creative and spirited ways. They sold pink socks, the official Pink Month t-shirt, donuts, and pink lemonade, along with organizing other campus initiatives to support the cause. They also took time to write heartfelt notes and prayers of healing to oncology patients — messages that Mrs. Benson and her team truly loved and appreciated. Being able to stand together and formally present our donation was a beautiful reminder that small acts of generosity can come together to create something powerful. It was a proud day for our students and a reflection of Chapelle’s commitment to faith, compassion, and service. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support the patients and programs at the Gayle & Tom Benson Cancer Center and proud of our Chipmunks for living out our mission in such a meaningful way.

Summer Soirée 💚🍷🎻 We had the joy of celebrating our New Parents at our annual Summer Soirée at The Crossing, officially welcoming them into the Chapelle Family! 💚 The evening was filled with warm conversations, laughter, and the excitement of a new chapter beginning. It was the perfect opportunity for Chapelle’s Administration to personally meet our newest families and for parents to begin forming connections with the families of their daughters’ future classmates. Events like the Summer Soirée are a special reminder that Chapelle is more than a school — it is a community rooted in faith, friendship, and support. Watching new relationships begin to grow is always one of our favorite parts of the summer. We are so grateful to all who joined us and helped make the evening so meaningful. We hope our newest Chipmunk families are enjoying a wonderful summer, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone to campus in August!

Founder & President, Special Olympics College Club at UL Lafayette Chapelle is proud to spotlight Marissa Rinderle ’24, who is already making an incredible impact during her time at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Marissa is the Founder and President of the Special Olympics College Club at UL Lafayette, a student-run organization dedicated to creating meaningful connections between college students and individuals with disabilities through athletics and campus events. “I actually founded the club after Special Olympics Louisiana reached out to me in hopes of expanding the college club program,” Marissa shared. “Rachel Meariman ’23 and I collaborated to get it all started!” The Special Olympics College Club at UL provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to connect with college students through various athletic events. The mission is simple yet powerful: to promote inclusion on the UL campus through sports, friendship, and the celebration of all abilities. Marissa’s passion for inclusion is deeply rooted in her involvement with the UL LIFE Program, which is designed to give individuals with disabilities the opportunity to experience college life while furthering their education and life skills. “The LIFE Program has encouraged and prepared me to begin Special Olympics UL,” she said. In addition to leading the Special Olympics College Club, Marissa also serves as Vice President of the Kinesiology Professional Association, demonstrating her continued commitment to leadership and service. At Chapelle, Marissa served as a Student Ambassador, a role she credits with helping her grow as a communicator and leader. “Being an ambassador enhanced my communication and leadership skills, preparing me for the various roles I now have in college,” she shared. Marissa exemplifies the Chapelle mission by leading with compassion, courage, and a heart for service. We are so proud of the difference she is making and can’t wait to see how she continues to inspire inclusion and build community. Congratulations, Marissa! Your Chapelle family is cheering you on!

God, thank you for a new year. May everyone in our family be willing to begin anew with a clean slate. We know that you are always ready to forgive us. Lights, Camera, Creativity! 🎬 Our Reading Lab students recently stepped into the roles of writers, directors, and producers as they created their own movie pitches inspired by what they have been learning in class. Blending their understanding of author’s purpose and genres of writing, students developed original movie concepts that reflected specific themes, tones, and writing styles. From persuasive dramas to imaginative adventures, each pitch demonstrated how literary elements shape storytelling across different formats. The project required students to craft a compelling movie summary and design a creative movie poster to bring their vision to life. The results were impressive, showcasing not only their comprehension of literary concepts but also their creativity and collaboration skills. By transforming reading strategies into cinematic storytelling, our students proved that strong literacy skills can shine on any stage — even the big screen!
