Here at Chapelle, we offer over a dozen AP classes to help prepare students for college with higher-level courses and chances at college credit. We are proud to offer this many college preparatory courses to allow our students to obtain credits before even stepping onto their college campuses!
Our students love that we offer AP classes! Junior Ms. Brianna Borne shared this when asked about her favorite AP course that she’s taken here at Chapelle: “My favorite AP course that I have completed at Chapelle has been AP European History in my sophomore year. This class helped me gain new thinking skills, which I now utilize in most of my classes. It also helped give me the ability to be grateful for the beauty in the world and for education.” Senior Ms. Grace Wilson shared this when asked how many college credit hours she currently holds: “So far, I have earned 24 credits for all my exams.”
Chapelle is also the only all-girls school in the Archdiocese to offer the AP Capstone program, which is the completion and passing of two AP classes and exams, AP Seminar and AP Research. Junior Ms. Gabrielle Bush, who is currently enrolled in the AP Seminar course, says, “AP Seminar is an important class to me because it is helping me improve my research techniques and citations in writing. So far, I have gained a better understanding of what other advanced research classes will expect from me in terms of formally annotated Bibliographies and In-Text Citations. I am interested to see what else I will gain from this class.”
But Chapelle’s focus when it comes to AP courses isn’t just on the students, but also the teachers who step up to teach these rigorous classes! Mr. Giardina, the AP US History teacher here at Chapelle, says, “The benefits of having AP course offerings extend beyond Chapelle. The skill sets learned while taking an AP class not only prepare a student for the academic rigors of college, AP students gain invaluable organizational and research-oriented skills that extend well into one’s career life as well.”
AP classes are a great way for students to get more difficulty implemented into their curriculum, while also saving themselves time and money in college. Please enjoy the pictures below from our recent party celebrating those who have completed or are currently completing an AP course!!
