Belize Mission Trip 2025:
A Journey of Faith, Service, and Transformation
This summer, Chapelle and Rummel missionaries returned from their unforgettable journey to Belize! The group arrived home bursting with joy and the Holy Spirit—quite literally singing “This Little Light of Mine” as they exited the airport and reunited with their families. Their hearts were full, and their spirits on fire after a week of transformative service and Christ-centered community.
This mission trip was more than a week of travel—it was a week of living out the Gospel. Our students not only served others but encountered Christ in new and profound ways. Through simple yet powerful moments—playing with children, sharing meals, praying together—they saw the light of Christ alive in the village of San Marcos, and in turn, allowed their own lights to shine.
Junior, Audrey Dubuc, reflected on her experience, sharing:
“Attending the Belize mission has truly been a fulfilling and life changing experience! The mission has shown me how powerful God’s love can be. In just one week I was able to see the light of Christ active in everyone I encountered. Being able to witness his healing done on this mission trip was so inspiring, and has shown how beautiful His love is. Specifically through the children of Belize, their pure joy was a true reflection of Jesus active in their lives. While serving their community, I got the opportunity to see God’s light shining through them. It brought me so much joy to see how, while we may live different lives, we are all still a part of the one Church and share in God’s love.”
Our students took Christ’s words from Matthew 28:19-20 to heart:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
And they did just that. By answering His call and stepping into this mission, they not only brought faith, hope, and love to the people of San Marcos, but also encountered Christ in deeper, more personal ways.
This mission marked our fourth year serving the San Marcos community, and we are beginning to witness real, lasting change. Through your support, our missionaries are not only growing spiritually, but helping to build something beautiful and lasting in Belize. The seeds planted over the years are bearing fruit, both in the hearts of our students and in the lives of the people they serve.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who made this mission trip possible—thank you for your prayers, donations, and support. You have played a vital role in making this journey one that our students will carry with them forever.
We leave you with the words of Psalm 105:1-5, which beautifully capture the spirit of this mission:
“Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name;
make known among the peoples his deeds!
Sing praise to him, play music;
proclaim all his wondrous deeds!
Glory in his holy name;
let hearts that seek the LORD rejoice!
Seek out the LORD and his might;
constantly seek his face.
Recall the wondrous deeds he has done!”

Surrounded by students and colleagues, she stood proudly as she received a $2,000 award from Credit Human—an acknowledgment of the incredible impact she makes on Chapelle Chipmunks every single day. From her creative teaching methods to the genuine care she pours into each student, Mrs. Taix embodies the mission of Chapelle. She inspires her students to think deeply, work hard, and believe in themselves. Her classroom is more than a place of learning—it’s a place where young women grow in confidence, character, and curiosity. Inspiring the Next Generation As an alumna of the Class of 1996, Mrs. Taix continues the legacy of Chapelle women who lead with faith, love, and dedication. Her influence extends far beyond the walls of her classroom, and her students are a testament to the power of a teacher who truly believes in their potential. We are incredibly proud of Mrs. Taix and grateful to WWL Channel 4 and Credit Human for recognizing the tremendous work she does. Congratulations, Mrs. Taix! Chapelle Shares Gratitude Through 2025 Thanksgiving Baskets 🦃🧺 The spirit of giving was alive and overflowing at Archbishop Chapelle High School this Thanksgiving season! As part of our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive, students, faculty, and staff worked together to create beautiful baskets filled with food and essentials for families in need. This year, the baskets were donated to the St. Mary Magdalen Food Pantry as well as six other families in our Chapelle community. Each Burrow, along with members of the faculty and staff, completed a full basket — totaling over 40 baskets donated! In addition, the Chapelle family collected more than 600 items as part of the drive. This service effort beautifully reflects the mission of our Matthew 25 Service Program, which reminds us of Christ’s words: “...we see you hungry and feed you.” We are so proud of our Chipmunks for living out their faith through compassion, generosity, and action. Because of your kindness, many families will experience comfort, hope, and joy this Thanksgiving season.
12th Grade Grandparents Day: A Cherished Chapelle Tradition The Class of 2025 celebrated a beautiful 12th Grade Grandparents Day filled with faith, family, and gratitude. The day began with a heartfelt Mass honoring the special role grandparents play in our lives and in shaping our faith. Following the celebration, seniors and their grandparents enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the Parents Club — complete with laughter, stories, and plenty of hugs. This celebration was especially meaningful as it marked the seniors’ final Grandparents Day as Chapelle Chipmunks. It was a wonderful reminder of the love, support, and traditions that make our community so strong. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing community of grandparents who nurture and inspire our students with faith, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Alumna Spotlight: Aimee Webre ’96 Named Teacher of the Year! We’re thrilled to celebrate Aimee Webre ’96, who has been named Teacher of the Year for Ellender High School! Aimee’s dedication to her students, creativity in the classroom, and passion for education make her a shining example of what it means to live out Chapelle’s values of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence every day. Reflecting on this well-deserved honor, Aimee shared, “I am extremely grateful to be surrounded by great administrators and teachers!” Her humility and commitment to teamwork remind us that inspiring educators don’t just teach — they lead with heart and lift others along the way. Alumna Spotlight: Laura Carroll ’04 Featured at the Louisiana Book Festival! We’re so proud to celebrate Laura Carroll ’04, whose children’s book, Geaux Boudreaux, was selected as a featured title at the Louisiana Book Festival in downtown Baton Rouge on November 1st! The Louisiana Book Festival is a statewide celebration of literature and culture, showcasing authors and storytellers whose work reflects the rich legacy of Louisiana’s creative spirit. To be featured among such talented writers is an incredible honor — one that Laura recognizes deeply. Reflecting on the moment, Laura shared, “This is a moment I don't take lightly. To be included among so many talented authors and storytellers—especially in a place so rich in literary tradition—is truly humbling.” Laura’s success is a testament to her creativity, dedication, and love of storytelling. Alumna Spotlight: Jennifer Moody Manning ’90 Inducted as Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing ✨💚 We are incredibly proud to celebrate Jennifer Moody Manning ’90, who has been inducted into the American Academy of Nursing as a Fellow — one of the most prestigious honors in the field of nursing academia. This remarkable recognition highlights Jennifer’s dedication to advancing nursing education, research, and leadership on a national level. She currently serves as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Nursing at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where she continues to influence and inspire the next generation of nurses with excellence and compassion. Jennifer’s induction into the Academy is a testament to her years of hard work, service, and impact on the healthcare community — embodying the very best of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence. Arleeta’s lifelong commitment to justice, leadership, and service truly reflects the values of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence that guide every Chapelle woman. Her impact within Jefferson Parish and beyond is a beautiful example of using one’s voice and gifts to uplift others and create positive change. Reflecting on the recognition, Arleeta shared, “It was an outstanding honor!” — and we couldn’t agree more! Congratulations, Arleeta, on this well-deserved achievement. STEM Takes Flight with Alumna Speaker Shelby Frazier ’20! ✈️ The STEM Club got a high-flying dose of inspiration this week, thanks to alumna Shelby Frazier ’20, who returned to Chapelle to share her passion for aviation and engineering! Shelby led a fun, interactive presentation all about airplanes and their inner workings, teaching students how lift, drag, and thrust work together to keep planes soaring through the sky. After learning the science behind flight, the students put their knowledge to the test by designing and creating their own paper airplanes — aiming to see whose plane could travel the farthest! The results were filled with creativity, friendly competition, and lots of laughter. We’re so proud of Shelby for continuing to represent Chapelle’s values of Faith, Tradition, and Excellence in her field, and for inspiring our students to reach new heights — literally!
