At your local library have you ever taken the time to get to know your librarians? Well, here at Chapelle we want to make everything feel like home, so come with us to meet the Archbishop Chapelle High School librarians!

But, before we meet the librarians, let us tell you about the new library they are working in! Chapelle’s library is located in the all-new St. Joan of Arc Center and is the perfect place for Chapelle students to locate numerous books, videos, DVDs, and printed and online databases. Chapelle’s full-time librarians are always ready to help students throughout the school day and to help further grow the student’s effective use of information resources.

The first librarian we are going to meet is Mrs. Tihana Zschiesche. Mrs. Zschiesche has been a librarian for Chapelle for 8 years. She says her favorite part about being a Chapelle librarian is “working with the students and getting to know them.” When we asked her what her favorite part about working in the new library was, she said “it’s beautiful and offers so many resources for the students to learn in.”

Next, is Chapelle’s librarian assistant Mrs. Maragret Daley. She works right by the side of Mrs. Zschiesche and is always ready to help. Mrs. Daley has been Chapelle’s assistant librarian for 23 years. She says her favorite part about being a Chapelle librarian is “showing the girls digital and printing resources and recommending new books for them to read.” When we asked Mrs. Daley what her favorite part about working in the new library was, she said “seeing the girls explore new things in the Arc.”

Now, let’s take a look at what our students think about our librarians. Freshman Oliva Barraco said, “Last year I had Mrs. Daley for Kris Kringle and she’s literally the sweetest person ever. She’s so understanding, for example, if you don’t get a problem you’re working on, Mrs. Daley will sit with you and try to help you work through it until you get it.” Sophomore Kendall Allen said “Mrs. Zschiesche is always there for us and is willing to help us. Especially when you need help printing!”

Thanks so much for meeting Chapelle’s librarians with us! We hope you could see just how much we appreciate our librarians! They are always ready to help and they show us how to effectively use all the aspects of the library and the rest of the new St. Joan of Arc Center.
