Thirteen New Faculty & Staff Members Join the Chapelle Family!

We are thrilled to welcome 13 incredible new faculty and staff members to Archbishop Chapelle High School!


As our school community continues to grow, these new team members will help ensure that our mission remains strong. With their enthusiasm, expertise, and passion for their fields, our Chipmunks are sure to be inspired to reach new heights.

Mrs. Stephanie Blackburn

Physics & Physics H


"My name is Stephanie Blackburn, and I am excited to be joining Chapelle as a full-time faculty member. This is my first year teaching after working for 20+ years in the civil engineering and construction industry, and I am thrilled to share my love of STEM with all of you. IAs a Chapelle parent myself, I am most excited to be a part of this wonderful community alongside my own family."

Ms. Cydnie Bourque

Theology 8 & Theology I


"Hi my name is Cydnie Bourque (Ms. Bourque) and this will be my first year teaching. I graduated from LSU with a degree in Digital Advertising and a minor in Business Administration, and I'm currently working on my Master's in Theology. I'm very excited to meet all of my students and get to be a part of the Chapelle community as it has already been such a joyful experience thus far!"

I can't wait to get to know the incoming 8th graders, help them feel at home at Chapelle, and make learning fun along the way. It's extra special to be teaching psychology at the place where I first fell in love with it!"

"I’m so excited to join the counseling department and I’m looking forward to building meaningful connections with our students and supporting them as they navigate both the joys and challenges of high school, all within a positive, faith-centered environment.  I provide individual academic planning, counseling-centered classroom lessons, and solution-focused support. I also work closely with families and administrators to ensure our students feel supported and empowered. My goal is to offer guidance, encourage healthy decision-making, and help every student thrive throughout her high school journey."

"Hello my name is Mr. Mayer and I'll be teaching Theology I and Theology II this year. I'm excited for the privilege to teach the girls the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith and support their journey to Heaven. I can't wait for the school year to begin, and I'm so blessed to be at Chapelle! Go Chips!"

"Hi, I'm Mallory Melancon. As an environmental scientist I am most excited to bring real world experiences to the classroom and create a hands-on learning environment. When I'm not teaching I am chasing after my 16 month old baby boy and traveling. Since I grew up in Florida I am most excited to be teaching at an all girls school and ready to see what this year brings."

"I'll be in the Campus Ministry department helping with faculty faith formation, Liturgies and the service program. I'm originally from Mississippi, and have been living in New Orleans for a year! I'm looking forward to serving in this role to help out not only the girls but as well as the staff live out the mission here at Chapelle."

"Hi, I’m Rayne Morehead, and I graduated from Chapelle in 2013, so being back on campus feels like coming home! My job is to help with fundraising, keep track of donations, and plan fun events that bring our alumnae and community together. I’m especially excited to help with fundraising for Incarnate Word Hall, a beautiful new building that will give students a peaceful, faith-filled space to grow closer to God. I can’t wait to be a part of all the amazing things happening this year!"

Mr. Anothony Taffaro

Spanish II & Spanish III DE


"Hi, I'm Anthony Taffaro, and this is my 6th year teaching and 1st year teaching at Chapelle High School. I am originally from Metairie and graduated from Jesuit in 2015 and LSU in 2019, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Spanish and Religious Studies.  I will also be an assistant coach for both the softball and basketball team this year as well as co-moderating the National Spanish Honors Society. I am excited to be a part of a new school community and for all the exciting new opportunities that Chapelle has in store for me!"

Congratulations to Petty Officer 2nd Class Julie Mullen ’27, a member of the U.S. Navy Sea Cadets Andrew J. Higgins Squadron, on being awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal. This prestigious honor recognizes Julie’s academic excellence, dependability, strong character, adherence to military discipline, leadership skills, and her deep, patriotic understanding of the importance of cadet training. Over the summer, Julie completed advanced training in Shipboard Maintenance aboard The Tall Ship Schooner, “The Bill of Rights” out of San Diego, California, and served as a staff cadet for the Gulf Coast Training Contingent at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, Louisiana, where she oversaw three different cadet trainings. Last school year, Julie also graduated from the following programs: Pensacola National Flight Academy in Pensacola, Florida Advanced Surface Warfare Officers Course in Newport, Rhode Island, where she learned to navigate Arleigh Burke Destroyer Ships Advanced JAG Training Advanced Equine Leadership Training, focused on how law enforcement uses horses in their work, at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky Julie was also featured in The Sea Cadet Seafarer Magazine’s December 2024 edition for her JAG training in Wilmore, where she was honored with the key to the City of Wilmore by both the Director of the Asbury University Barn and Mayor Harold Rainwater. In addition, she was featured and interviewed on a podcast for the Gulf Coast Training Contingent, further highlighting her outstanding accomplishments and leadership. Way to go, Julie! Keeping reaching for the stars!

Introducing our newest addition to Archbishop Chapelle High School: The Chipmunk Cafe! Pigeon’s Catering, our new cafeteria food vendor, is introducing an exciting addition to the Chapelle community: The Chipmunk Café! Each morning, The Chipmunk Café will offer a variety of beverages, including coffee, iced teas, and other refreshing drinks, along with pastries, fruit, and more to help students and faculty start their day off right. At lunchtime, the café will provide convenient grab-and-go options to keep everyone fueled and focused.  We are thrilled to bring this new feature to our school and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy it!

A Commitment to Excellence The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) has announced its annual list of schools recognized for maintaining a violation-free status during the 2024-2025 academic year, and Chapelle is proud to be among them! This prestigious recognition reflects the school's commitment to integrity, excellence, and upholding the highest standards in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities. By adhering to LHSAA rules and regulations, Chapelle continues to set a positive example for students, staff, and the greater community.
