Chapelle Celebrates Academic Excellence and Service at ChampionChip Lunch Archbishop Chapelle High School recently celebrated students who continue to live out the school’s mission through excellence in the classroom, dedication to service, and a commitment to using their gifts for others during the annual ChampionChip Lunch. This special celebration recognized students for their accomplishments in academics, service, or both. Whether earning an Outstanding Student Award, achieving Honor Roll or Distinguished Honor Roll for all four quarters, or dedicating their time and talents through the Matthew 25 Program, each honoree represented what it means to be a Chapelle Chipmunk: faithful, hardworking, compassionate, and committed to making a difference. The Matthew 25 Service Awards celebrate students who have selflessly dedicated their time and talents to helping others in meaningful ways. Inspired by the Gospel message of Matthew 25, these awards remind students that Christ is present in those we serve and that even simple acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion can have a lasting impact. Each recognition level reflects an extraordinary commitment to serving the community and answering the call to love others through action. At the ChampionChip Lunch, students were honored not only for what they achieved, but also for the spirit in which they achieved it. Academic honorees were recognized for their discipline, curiosity, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence across a wide range of subjects, while Matthew 25 honorees were celebrated for choosing to serve beyond themselves. Some students were recognized for academic achievement, some for service, and many for both. Congratulations to all of our ChampionChip Lunch honorees. We are so proud of your accomplishments, your servant hearts, and the example you set for our school community. May you continue to lead with faith, serve with love, and pursue excellence in all that you do.

Chapelle Celebrates Kindness Week with a Kindness Cruise Archbishop Chapelle High School hopped aboard the Kindness Cruise for its annual celebration of spreading love and positivity across campus. Throughout the week, students participated in intentional acts of kindness, while the Counseling Department helped guide the journey by stamping students’ Kindness Passports at each “port.” The week encouraged students to see how one simple act of love can create a wave of goodness. Each day featured a new destination and challenge designed to help students practice kindness in thoughtful and meaningful ways. On Tuesday, students arrived at Port 1: Kindness Cove , where they were challenged to complete one small, intentional act of kindness for someone they did not know well. Students were encouraged to say hello to someone they usually pass by, include someone in a conversation, make room for someone to sit with them, or offer a genuine compliment. On Wednesday, the Kindness Cruise continued to Port 2: Ripple Reef . This stop reminded students that someone’s kindness does not have to stop with them. Students were challenged to notice a kind moment and then create another one, helping the ripple of kindness continue throughout the Chapelle community. On Thursday, students visited Port 3: Encouragement Island , where the focus was on using words to lift others up and brighten someone’s day. Students were encouraged to thank a teacher, celebrate someone else’s small win, send a kind message, or simply take the time to truly listen to someone. The week concluded on Friday at Port 4: Aloha Harbor with Chapelle’s Kindness Fest. In true Chapelle fashion, students celebrated the end of the week with a fun festival right here on campus. Kindness Fest included face painting, a blow-up slide, sno-balls, a 360 camera, and so much more. A special thank you goes to our Counseling Department for all they did to make Kindness Week such a successful and fun experience for everyone. Their creativity, planning, and dedication helped bring the Kindness Cruise to life and made the week meaningful for our entire school community. Kindness Week was a joyful reminder for students to keep noticing, keep including, keep encouraging, and keep making waves. Archbishop Chapelle is proud of the way our Chipmunks embraced the journey and helped create a wave of goodness across campus.

Theology Students Explore Abraham’s Journey Through Scripture Scavenger Hunt Theology students recently took their learning beyond the classroom with a Scripture Scavenger Hunt around campus focused on the life of Abraham in the Book of Genesis. As part of their study, students searched for and read different Scripture passages that highlighted key moments from Abraham’s life. Through these passages, they learned more about Abraham’s story of trust in God’s promises and his important role in salvation history. The scavenger hunt was designed to help students connect more deeply with Abraham’s journey. In Genesis 12, Abraham was called by God to leave his home and travel to a new land he did not know. By moving around campus to discover each Scripture passage, students were able to experience a small reflection of that journey of faith and trust.  This interactive activity gave students the opportunity to engage with Scripture in a meaningful and memorable way. As they followed Abraham’s story, they reflected on what it means to listen to God, trust His promises, and step forward in faith even when the destination is unknown.

The Class of 2027 Has a Nice RING to it!💍 On Thursday, August 20, the seniors attended their Ring Mass at Divine Mercy Church in Kenner, Louisiana. Ring Mass is a cherished tradition marking a huge moment in their Chapelle journey. Before Mass began, members of the Class of 2027 presented their class symbols: Senior Class Flower - Sierra Corales Senior Motto - Marcella Casanova Senior Colors - Emma Flynn Chapelle Diploma - Gabrielle Bush Chapelle Alma Mater - Molly Tusa 2027 Class Unity Candle Votive - Lyla Pelle Chapelle Senior Ring - Alivia Nevels Senior Sweater - Cassie Nguyen Bible - Allyson Dardar Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Emily LeBlanc Senior Class Rings - Alyssa Canfill, Gia Chester, Madison Pansano, Ja'Layah Small, and Allisson Suazo Caballero After Mass concluded, the Class of 2027's official Ring Ceremony began. During this special ceremony, the students received their senior rings, some of which were worn by their mothers, sisters, grandmothers, and other important Chipmunks in their lives. Other seniors are starting their own legacy which holds so much excitement in itself! Mrs. Connie Dantagnan '88 (Chapelle's Head of School), Shannon Impastato '96 (Chapelle's Alumnae Director) and Senior Class President, Mia Impastato, presented the Class of 2027 Votive to the Chapelle Unity Candle. The Class of 2027 is the 62nd graduating class of Archbishop Chapelle High School. All 62 classes are united to our current students through our charism of Deus Providebit, through our school traditions, and through our mission of excellence in spiritual, academic, and social formation. The Unity Candle symbolizes the over 14,000 women who have graduated from Chapelle. Join us in congratulating this amazing class! There are so many more sweet moments to come this year, and we are praying for them every step of the way!

AP Psychology Students Build Candy Neurons to Learn About Neural Communication Ms. LaCour’s AP Psychology students recently brought neuroscience to life through a hands-on candy neuron activity designed to help them better understand the structure and function of a neuron. As part of their study of the neuron and neural impulse, students created physical models of neurons using candy. The activity gave students the opportunity to build and manipulate their own models while learning the different parts of the neuron and the role each part plays in communication within the nervous system. Rather than simply reviewing the information from slides, students were able to engage with the material in a creative and interactive way. By placing their candy neurons next to one another, they could better visualize how neurons connect and communicate with each other. After building their neurons, students added Skittles to represent ions inside and outside the neuron. Using the candy pieces, they created models of both a resting neuron and a firing neuron. This helped students see how the movement of ions across the cell membrane creates an action potential. By building and manipulating their candy models, students were able to better understand how a neuron is structured, how it communicates, and what happens when it fires. The activity made a complex topic more visual, memorable, and engaging for AP Psychology students.  Great work, AP Psychology!
