The curtains are about to rise for the talented Rummel/Chapelle Genesians as they bring the classic musical Guys and Dolls to life! After months of preparation, this dedicated group of students is ready to shine on stage during their performances on October 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th.
A Collaborative Effort
The Genesians have poured their hearts into every aspect of this production, working tirelessly to ensure every detail is perfect. From learning intricate choreography to mastering their vocals, the cast has embraced the challenge of telling this timeless story. But the magic doesn’t stop there!
Behind the scenes, crew members have been hard at work:
🎭 Designing and crafting props that bring 1940s New York City to life.

Career Engagement Spotlight: Kim Sherlock Mumphrey ’92 💚✨ As part of our Career Engagement Series, we were delighted to welcome Kim Sherlock Mumphrey ’92 back to Chapelle to share her inspiring journey in Early Childhood Education. Kim’s passion and dedication to shaping the future through education left a lasting impression on our students. A Career Shaping Little Learners Kim serves as a Lead PreK Teacher and Early Childhood Coordinator at Beary Cherry Tree Child Development Center, where she works with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Her role involves: - Teaching and leading a classroom. - Helping children meet their developmental milestones. - Preparing young learners for their journey into elementary school. - Overseeing an incredible team of staff members dedicated to creating a nurturing and engaging environment. - Kim shared how rewarding it is to be a part of a child’s growth, from their first steps to their first words, and how Early Childhood Education lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Making a Difference, One Little Learner at a Time For students interested in a career working with children, Kim emphasized the importance of being patient, creative, and passionate. Early Childhood Education is more than teaching—it’s about fostering curiosity, helping children develop social and emotional skills, and inspiring a love of learning that will carry them through life. Natalie highlighted two exciting career paths that combine financial expertise, responsibility, and making a real-world impact! A Career in Banking and Financial Literacy With over 10 years of experience as an Analyst at HW Bank, Natalie plays a key role in keeping the bank running smoothly by managing circuits and phone lines. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Natalie’s true passion lies in teaching financial literacy. She shared tips on the importance of saving, investing, and becoming financially independent, recommending books and resources for students to start managing money early. Natalie expressed how rewarding it is to see students take notes and show enthusiasm about building smart financial habits that will benefit them for a lifetime. Managing the Nation’s Energy Resources Natalie also shared insights about managing the United States Petroleum Reserves, an essential role that ensures the country’s energy resources are used responsibly. This career path highlights the importance of budgeting, resource management, and making smart decisions that impact the nation’s energy future. For students interested in finance, energy, and making a difference, Natalie emphasized how fulfilling it can be to work in a field where every decision has a meaningful impact. A Dual Career in Healthcare Heather has been a Respiratory Therapist for over seven years, working in hospitals to care for lung patients in need of critical support. She described the deeply rewarding experience of being on the frontlines of patient care, helping individuals breathe easier and recover from serious illnesses. For the past 2.5 years, Heather has also worked as a Medical Sales Professional for Exact Sciences, combining her clinical expertise with her passion for innovation. In her current role, she partners with healthcare systems to provide advanced cancer screenings and diagnostics. "I work with medical teams to find the best solutions for their patients," Heather explained. "I get to be part of groundbreaking technology that’s improving healthcare." A Day in the Life of a Sales Representative Mallory works as a Sales Representative, managing season ticket holders, premium clients, and organizing large group night outs for both the Saints and Pelicans. Her role goes beyond selling tickets—it also involves event planning and delivering a top-notch experience for fans. “If you’re looking for a fun and fast-paced environment and love sports, this is the job for you," Mallory shared. Recently, we were thrilled to welcome Mallory Knudsen Hart ’15 back to campus to speak at one of our Career Engagement Sessions, where she shared her journey as an Associate Attorney and provided valuable insights into the legal profession. A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney Mallory works in Big Law as an associate attorney at a downtown firm, specializing in Labor and Employment Defense. She explained to students that her role involves defending and counseling employers of all sizes on labor and employment issues. “No day is the same," Mallory shared. "Some days I am preparing discrimination and harassment trainings and drafting handbook policies. Other days I am reviewing documents for litigation discovery and writing motions to be filed in court." Her dynamic career highlights the variety and complexity of the legal field, offering students a glimpse into the real-world applications of hard work, critical thinking, and adaptability.
