Chipmunks Explore the World
Students from Archbishop Chapelle High School recently returned from an unforgettable journey through Europe, where they explored world-renowned landmarks, immersed themselves in diverse cultures, and practiced their foreign language skills. This enriching trip took them to London, Paris, and Barcelona, offering a perfect blend of history, art, and modern-day experiences.
A Journey of a Lifetime
London
The first stop on the trip was the iconic city of London, where students marveled at one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks—Big Ben. The visit set the tone for a trip filled with awe-inspiring sights and cultural discovery.
Paris
The next destination was the City of Light: Paris. Students explored the grandeur of Versailles, admired the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral, and enjoyed a serene Seine River cruise, which provided breathtaking views of the city’s landmarks illuminated by the water.
The following day in Paris was packed with culture and elegance. Students explored the world-famous Louvre Museum, strolled through the Fragonard Perfume Museum, and marveled at the luxury of Galleries Lafayette, one of the city’s most iconic shopping destinations.
Barcelona
From Paris, the group traveled by train to Barcelona, where they were immediately greeted by the stunning architecture of La Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece.
The next day, they discovered the beauty of the Cathedral de Barcelona, enjoyed panoramic views from the top of Montjuïc, and ended the day at the whimsical Park Güell, another Gaudí creation filled with vibrant colors and unique designs.
Their final day in Barcelona was a perfect combination of tradition and modernity. Students participated in a hands-on cooking class, learning to prepare authentic Spanish dishes. They explored the Golden Mile, one of the best shopping streets in the city. They also visited Casa Milà (La Pedrera), yet another stunning example of Gaudí’s architecture, before concluding their trip with an unforgettable Flamenco show, a lively and emotional celebration of Spanish culture.
An Experience Beyond the Classroom
The Foreign Language Trip offered students the opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom walls. They had the chance to practice their foreign language skills with native speakers, deepen their understanding of European history and art, and create lifelong memories with their classmates.
Trips like these are a cornerstone of Chapelle’s commitment to Faith, Excellence, and Service, allowing students to broaden their perspectives and engage meaningfully with the world around them.
