The Chapelle bowling team has much to celebrate! Several of our talented Chips have been named All-District, an honor that recognizes outstanding athletic performance, dedication, and excellence throughout the season.

Student Council Theme for the 2026–2027 School Year: STUCO Under the Big Top The excitement was impossible to miss as Chapelle Student Council revealed their highly anticipated theme for the 2026–2027 school year: STUCO Under the Big Top! This fun and spirited circus-inspired theme sets the stage for a year full of excitement, creativity, school spirit, and unforgettable memories. The reveal came to life through the colorful costumes of the STUCO Executive Board, with each officer representing a different part of the circus. From the ringmistress to popcorn, cotton candy, and more, the officers brought the Big Top to Chapelle in the most energetic way. Meet the 2026–2027 STUCO Leaders 🎪 President Audrey Dubuc: Dressed as the Ringmistress, Audrey is ready to lead the show and guide Chapelle through a year filled with spirit, service, and exciting events. 🍿 Vice President Victoria McCann: As the popcorn seller, Victoria brought a classic circus favorite to life and reminded everyone that this year is sure to be full of fun, energy, and moments worth sharing. 🦁 Secretary Lauren de la Gardelle: Dressed as a lion with a ring of fire, Lauren represented courage, strength, and the bold spirit STUCO hopes to inspire throughout the year. 🤡 Treasurer Anna Claire Occhipinti: As a circus clown, Anna Claire brought laughter, joy, and playful energy to the reveal, setting the tone for a year filled with smiles and school spirit. 🍭 Historian Sloan Boudoin: Dressed as cotton candy, Sloan added sweetness and color to the theme while preparing to capture all of the special moments that will make this school year one to remember. With STUCO Under the Big Top as this year’s theme, Chapelle students can look forward to a year packed with creativity, connection, and plenty of Chapelle spirit. The curtain is rising on an exciting new school year, and STUCO is ready to make it one for the books!

Alumna Spotlight: Tara Centanni Reese ’88 Elected President of CCSCC Archbishop Chapelle High School is proud to celebrate Tara Centanni Reese ’88 on her recent election as President of the Council of Catholic School Cooperative Clubs (CCSCC). Tara has dedicated her professional life to education, serving 23 years with Jefferson Parish Public Schools. She currently works as a Master Teacher (Instructional Coach) at Isaac G. Joseph at Stella Worley, a PreK–8 school. For more than a decade, she has served as a Master Teacher in various schools across the parish, mentoring educators and supporting instructional growth. Her commitment to learning began long before her career in education. Tara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 1997 and her Master’s in Education in 2006, both from the University of Holy Cross. Beyond the classroom, Tara has consistently stepped into leadership roles within both educational and Catholic communities. She has served as President, Vice-President, and Secretary of the University of Holy Cross Alumni Board, as well as on Chapelle’s Alumnae Board. At St. Clement of Rome, she served as President and Vice-President of the Co-Op Club, and for the past four years, she has been a member of the Hospitality Committee for Chapelle’s Parent Club. Her election as President of the CCSCC comes after 10 years of service on the council, including time as 2nd Vice-President and participation on numerous committees. Reflecting on her time at Chapelle, Tara shares, "Chapelle prepared me both academically and spiritually for the path I have taken. It gave me the skills and confidence to succeed in my profession while instilling the values, faith, and commitment to service that continue to guide my volunteer work." We are incredibly proud of Tara’s leadership, dedication to Catholic education, and continued service to our community. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
Alumna Spotlight: Brigid Higgins Van Timmeren ’87 Named Principal of St. Cletus Elementary Archbishop Chapelle High School is proud to celebrate alumna Brigid Higgins Van Timmeren ’87 on her appointment as the new principal of St. Cletus Elementary School. Brigid shared, “It is with great joy and excitement that I become the new principal of St. Cletus Elementary School. My journey in education has been fueled by a commitment to my Catholic values and academic excellence nurtured long ago by my family, close friendships, and the dedicated faculty at Archbishop Chapelle High School.” A lifelong servant-leader, Brigid brings more than 26 years of experience in education and over 30 years in music ministry at St. Rita Catholic Church to her new role. Most recently, she served in leadership positions at Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies and with the Jefferson Parish Talented Music Program, where she mentored teachers and supported students in achieving academic and creative excellence. Brigid’s commitment to Catholic education is rooted in Gospel values and a deep belief in servant leadership. Her dedication to mentoring teachers and forming students spiritually and academically reflects the mission we hold dear at Chapelle. Alumnae Giving Back at Acorn Camp 💚🐿️ Each summer, Acorn Camp fills our campus with laughter, energy, and the joyful spirit of young girls experiencing Chapelle for the first time. What makes it even more special? So many of the leaders guiding them were once campers and students here themselves. A large number of our Acorn Camp counselors are proud Archbishop Chapelle alumnae who have returned to the place that helped shape them. Now, they are the mentors, role models, and friendly faces creating meaningful memories for the next generation. From leading activities and cheering on campers to sharing stories of their own Chapelle days, these alumnae embody the lasting impact of our school community. While not all of our incredible camp staff are graduates, the presence of so many alumnae highlights something truly beautiful: the Chapelle sisterhood does not end at graduation. It continues in service, leadership, and the desire to give back. Seeing our graduates return to campus to pour into young girls is a powerful reminder that Chapelle is more than a school — it is a lifelong home.
ChipStart 2026: Welcoming the Class of 2031 💚 ChipStart is more than just an introduction to high school. It is the first step in a journey of sisterhood, faith, leadership, and confidence at Archbishop Chapelle High School. Over the course of two unforgettable weeks in June, the Class of 2031 officially began their Chapelle story. From the moment they checked in on the first morning, they were welcomed by Student Council, class officers, Ambassadors, faculty, and administrators who were eager to help them feel at home. Throughout ChipStart, our newest Chipmunks experienced a little bit of everything that makes Chapelle special. They learned school traditions, practiced cheers, brainstormed rally themes, and competed in friendly games that gave them a taste of the excitement of Rally season. They explored campus, met administrators, walked their schedules, and became familiar with the spaces where they will learn and grow over the next four years. Faith remained at the heart of it all. The class participated in a retreat experience and celebrated their very first Class Mass together, which is a meaningful milestone that grounded their high school journey in prayer and community. They learned Chapelle songs, reflected on what it means to be a young woman of faith, and closed each day in gratitude. Of course, ChipStart would not be complete without plenty of fun. From pep rallies and scavenger hunts to workouts, bonding games, off‑campus adventures, and a spirited class rally, laughter filled the halls. The Chippy Bucks auction and final celebration luncheon were the perfect way to end their time together, recognizing the friendships formed and memories made. Most importantly, ChipStart created connection. What began as a group of incoming 8th graders quickly became a class united in spirit and ready to take on high school together. The Class of 2031 has officially begun their Chapelle legacy, and we cannot wait to see how they grow, lead, and shine in the years ahead. Welcome home, Chipmunks.
Alumna Spotlight: Jennie Viosca Graffeo ’90 💚 Chapelle is proud to spotlight Jennie Viosca Graffeo, Class of 1990, who continues to make an impact through her leadership and dedication in the professional world. Jennie is a valued member of the team at Lofton, where she recently reached an exciting milestone by strengthening the company’s partnership with a long‑standing client in Covington. As the client prepares to expand operations with a new office opening in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, they entrusted Jennie as their exclusive recruiting partner for key positions, including Shipping Clerks, IT, Clerical, and Pharmacy Technician roles. Her ability to build trust, cultivate relationships, and deliver results reflects both her professionalism and commitment to excellence. Being chosen as the sole recruiting partner for such an important expansion speaks volumes about the confidence her clients have in her expertise and integrity. Jennie’s accomplishments are a testament to the strong foundation of leadership, work ethic, and service that Chapelle women carry into every field. We are so proud to see her continuing to grow partnerships, open doors, and make a difference in our local community.
In Loving Memory of John Theriot 💚 The Chapelle community mourns the loss of John Theriot, a beloved friend, generous supporter, and faithful champion of Archbishop Chapelle High School. John, along with his wife Joanna, was honored as our 2022 Deus Providebit Award recipient, a recognition reserved for those whose unwavering generosity and commitment embody the spirit of our mission. Together, they faithfully supported Chapelle through their leadership, their presence, and their philanthropy. John and Joanna played an integral role in many of Chapelle’s most meaningful initiatives. Together, their generosity helped strengthen transformative projects on campus such as the St. Joan of Arc Center and our current project, Incarnate Word Hall. John and his family are steadfast supporters of beloved traditions and fundraising events including the Craft Fair, Emerald Gala, and the Chipmunk Classic. His shared belief in Catholic education and in the students of both Archbishop Chapelle High School, and his Alma Mater, Archbishop Rummel High School, was evident in every endeavor he supported. As a member of Chapelle’s Advisory Board, John offered wisdom, guidance, and a deep commitment to the continued growth of our school. He was also a proud Chipmunk parent to his daughter, Ella Theriot ’21, and nothing brought him greater joy than seeing her and so many members of his family thrive within the Chapelle community. John often spoke with pride about his family’s deep roots at Chapelle. His sisters, Sally ’68, Nancy ’74, Jane ’75, Audrey ’76, and Theresa ’78, along with his sister‑in‑law, Christy ’73, all walked our halls. His nieces, Katie ’96, Jill ’96, Jamie ’00, Laura ’00, Melissa ’02, and Mary ’10, continued the tradition, followed by his great‑niece, Jena ’26. Chapelle was not simply a school to John; it was family, legacy, and home. His kindness, humility, and steadfast support will forever have a lasting impact on our community. John believed wholeheartedly in the mission of Chapelle and in the promise of the young women we are blessed to educate. We are deeply grateful for his life, his friendship, and his enduring legacy.
