Latin II Brings Mythology to Life with Creative Hotel Projects 🏛️🕸️ Ms. Urso’s Latin II class recently explored mythology and design in a creative project to prepare for the culture sections of the National Latin Exam. Students designed a hotel inspired by a "spooky" mythological creature or god/goddess, blending ancient Roman culture with modern concepts. Each student created a portfolio, either digital or physical, showcasing the hotel exterior, lobby layout, restaurants, and room decor, all inspired by their chosen mythological figure. This hands-on project allowed students to deepen their understanding of mythology while honing design, storytelling, and presentation skills. One standout project was the Elysian Fields Resort , designed by 9th-grader Lyla Steimle , inspired by Hades/Pluto. Her vision included a sleek, underworld-themed exterior, a glowing, elegant lobby, and room interiors styled after the Elysian Fields. Lyla’s attention to detail brought her mythological concept to life! This project is a testament to how Chapelle’s language classes encourage creativity and critical thinking while preparing students for academic success. Congratulations to Ms. Urso’s Latin II class for their hard work and innovative designs!
