FROM THE DESK OF THE

HEAD OF SCHOOL

Students and Parents,

For the safety of our Chapelle students, faculty and staff, we have upgraded the campus gate system. Beginning on Tuesday, January 21, the perimeter of Chapelle’s campus will be secured daily from 8:30am – 2:45pm. Access to campus will be through the Montana Avenue gate (near the flagpole) during the school day. You must pull up to the Montana Avenue touchpad and press the silver button to speak with front office. Once you have identified yourself, the gate will be opened for you to enter campus. You must come directly to the front office after parking. When exiting campus, pull directly up to the same gate. As you approach the gate, it will automatically open, and it will automatically close after you exit. Thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on the safety of our campus.

Thank you for entrusting your daughters in our care. Have a great weekend.

Hallow

Last year, we partnered with Hallow, an amazing online resource for prayer that the students can use in the classroom and in their own personal lives! Having Hallow was a great opportunity that I know many of our students took advantage of. Between the faculty, staff, and students, the Archbishop Chapelle community prayed over 11,000 prayers on Hallow last year!

I am happy to say that we are partnering with Hallow again this year! Every single student will have full access to a Hallow account through their achschipmunks email. They should have, or soon will be receiving an email from Hallow with more information on how to log into their accounts. The students can access Hallow through the web browser on their chromebooks, or they can also download the app on their smartphones if they have one. We will be using Hallow in the Theology classes this year, so it is important that every student knows how to access their accounts.

Parents, Hallow also generously offers a free trial for you! Be on the lookout for more information in the future!

If you have any questions about Hallow, please contact Mr. Gavin Matherne.

Know that we are praying for you!

Bullying/Harassment Policy

Bullying is a distinctive pattern of repeatedly and deliberately harming and humiliating others and is characterized by a power imbalance between the two parties. Bullying includes, but is not limited to physical or verbal aggression, relational aggression, or emotional aggression (teasing, threatening, and intimidating others). Relational aggression (RA), is a form of indirect bullying that uses social relationships to manipulate or harm others, such as isolating a student from her group of friends (social exclusion), threatening to stop talking to a friend (the ''silent treatment''), or spreading gossip and rumors. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, slurs, jokes, comments, or other offensive conduct relating to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. Bullying, relational aggression (including cyber-bullying), and harassment will not be tolerated. Please use the forms below to report bullying.

Chapelle Students Recognized in the Keep Christ in Christmas Poem Contest The Chapelle community is excited to celebrate two gifted writers whose heartfelt words stood out in this year’s Keep Christ in Christmas Poem Contest! Sophie Taylor earned 1st place in the 6th–8th grade division, capturing the true meaning of the season with a beautifully written poem that reflected faith, joy, and the spirit of Christmas. In the 9th–12th grade division, Angelica Bendeck received 1st place, impressing judges with her thoughtful and inspiring piece that highlighted the central message of Christ’s love during the Christmas season. Both students were honored for their creativity, expression of faith, and dedication to keeping Christ at the heart of Christmas. Congratulations, Sophie and Angelica! Your words remind us of the beauty, hope, and sacred meaning of this holy season. Sophie Taylor' Poem (8th Grade): In the glow of the season, When the lights softly gleam, let us not lose sight of the heart of the dream. Beyond gifts and glitter, Beyond songs that play, lies the love of a savior born on that day. Keep Christ in Christmas, let His light shine through, in kindness, mercy, in all that we do. For the true gift of Christmas was not wrapped in gold, but in swaddling cloth, in a story long told. Angelica Bendeck (10th Grade): When Christmas lights begin to glow, And joyful carols softly flow, Let everyone remember still, The holy gift of God's will. For in a manger, low and bare, The Savior came to meet us there, Not wrapped in gold, nor crowned in fame, But clothed in love, with a humble name. To Keep Christ in Christmas days, Let kindness guide your words and ways, Serve with joy, forgive others and pray, And walk with him each passing day. So, keep his light, so purse, so bright, On this lovely Christmas night.

Chapelle Choirs Shine at the 2025 Christmas Concert ✨🎄 On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Chapelle community gathered in the Barn for a beautiful evening of music as the Archbishop Chapelle Choirs presented their annual Christmas Concert. Under the direction of Mrs. Trina Hille, with Mr. Gregory Lambousy accompanying, the choirs filled the space with joyful melodies, classic Christmas favorites, and moments of true musical artistry. The concert opened with a warm welcome and quickly moved into a stunning selection of pieces performed by the Chapelle Chorale, including beloved works such as O Come All Ye Faithful, Catalonian Carol, and Still, Still, Still. Their harmonies set a reflective and festive tone for the night. The Chapelle Chorus followed with spirited performances of Christmas classics like It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Jingle Bells, Holy Night, and Ring Those Christmas Bells. Their energy and joy brought smiles to the entire audience. Bringing together the full choir and audience, the evening concluded with timeless favorites such as Silent Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, creating a unifying moment of community and Christmas cheer. The program also recognized the 2025–2026 Choir Officers, who help guide the choir program with dedication and leadership. A heartfelt thank‑you goes out to the students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the Audio Engineering Class for their support and contributions that made this concert possible. Special recognition is also extended to choir families for enabling their daughters’ commitment to music and performance. This year’s Christmas Concert was a beautiful reminder of the joy, hope, and unity the season brings—and a shining example of the talent and heart within the Chapelle Choirs. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! 🎶

Families, friends, and supporters gathered to celebrate the season with an evening of joyful music and student talent. Vocalists Camryn McGregor and Shelby Lowrance added a special touch with their soulful performances. - The Percussion Ensemble entertained the audience with Carol of the Cowbells, a creative and rhythmic twist on familiar holiday themes. - To close the evening, the Symphonic Band delivered a powerful and moving performance of works including Dashing Through the Snow, Lux Aurumque, Sleigh Ride, and Minor Alterations, demonstrating impressive skill and musical maturity. Celebrating Excellence: 2025 Honor Society Inductions at Chapelle ✨💚 The Chapelle community proudly recognized the outstanding academic achievements, leadership, service, creativity, and character of our students during the 2025 Honor Society Induction Ceremonies. This year, new members were welcomed into the following prestigious honor societies: • Mu Alpha Theta (MAO) • National Art Honor Society (NAHS) • National English Honor Society (NEHS) • National French Honor Society (NFHS) • National Junior Classical League Latin Honor Society (NJCL) • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) • National Honor Society (NHS) • National Spanish Honor Society (NSHS) • TRI-M Music Honor Society (TRI-M) These ceremonies celebrated students who have gone above and beyond in their academic and artistic pursuits. Each inductee has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and the values that define a Chapelle education: faith, scholarship, leadership, and service. New Year Prayer

God, thank you for a new year. May everyone in our family be willing to begin anew with a clean slate. We know that you are always ready to forgive us. Help us to be willing to forgive ourselves and to forgive one another As we begin a new year, remind us of our truest values and our deepest desires. Help us to live in the goodness that comes from doing what you want us to do. Help us to put aside anxiety about the future and the past, so that we might live in peace with you now, one day at a time.

Amen.

Freshmen Win Penny Wars 2025 — and Chapelle Raises Over $6,400 for Families in Need! 💚🎄 The Chapelle spirit shined brighter than ever during this year’s Penny Wars, as students across all grade levels came together for a little friendly competition—and a whole lot of generosity. The result? An incredible $6,457.06 raised for our annual Christmas Giving Tree, supporting six families in need this holiday season! While every class contributed to this amazing total, the freshmen earned the victory crown by ending the competition with the least amount of negative money in their container. Their strategy paid off—literally! As champions, their class representative, Mr. Giovingo, got the honor of pieing all the other grade‑level teacher representatives (plus a few extra lucky participants!). The laughter, excitement, and whipped‑cream chaos made for a memorable celebration of their win. But the real victory belongs to the Chapelle community as a whole. Every dollar dropped into a container became part of a larger mission: ensuring that families in our community experienced joy, relief, and hope this Christmas season. Because of our students’ generosity, six families received gifts, essentials, and support during the holidays. Penny Wars reminded us that even the smallest contributions can create something extraordinary when we work together. Thank you to every Chipmunk who donated, strategized, and supported the cause. Your kindness made a real difference. Faith, tradition, excellence—and a whole lot of heart.

AP Government Brings Civics to Life with a Simulated Impeachment Trial ⚖️🇺🇸 Students in AP Government stepped into the world of constitutional law this week as they participated in a dynamic and engaging simulated Impeachment Trial of their class President. Designed to deepen understanding of the impeachment process, the activity challenged students to apply their knowledge, think critically, and work collaboratively in a realistic courtroom-style experience. Students took on a variety of important roles throughout the simulation. Some served as Senators, carefully listening to testimony, analyzing evidence, and ultimately deliberating and delivering a final verdict. Others acted as attorneys, representing both the prosecution and the defense. These student lawyers crafted compelling opening and closing arguments, questioned witnesses, and examined evidence to make their case. Several students stepped into the role of key witnesses, testifying about their involvement in the scenario and responding to challenging questions from both sides. One student even served as the Chief Justice, presiding over the entire trial and ensuring that proceedings remained fair and orderly. This hands-on learning experience offered much more than just a civics lesson. Students strengthened their public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork skills while gaining a clearer understanding of constitutional principles and legal procedure. The simulation served as an excellent preparation for the AP U.S. Government Exam, giving students the chance to apply classroom knowledge in a memorable and meaningful way. Through this immersive activity, our young scholars gained firsthand insight into the complexities of impeachment—an experience that will stay with them long after the exam is over.

Chapelle Celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception On December 8th, the Chapelle community gathered in faith and joy to celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a beautiful holy day honoring Mary’s preservation from original sin and her “yes” to God’s plan. The celebration reminded us of the purity, grace, and courage of Our Blessed Mother—virtues we strive to emulate in our daily lives. During Mass, we reflected on the words of Scripture that capture the heart of this feast: “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” — Luke 1:28 This verse reminds us of Mary’s unique role in salvation history and her openness to God’s will, inspiring each of us to follow her example of trust and discipleship. This year’s celebration was made even more special as our 8th graders enjoyed their first Grandparents Day as Chipmunks. Seeing grandparents join their granddaughters for Mass, photos, and campus activities brought a spirit of love and family that filled the entire school. The joy on the faces of our newest Chipmunks—and their grandparents—was truly heartwarming. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor Mary together as a community and to welcome our wonderful grandparents to campus. May the grace of this feast continue to inspire our hearts throughout the Advent season.
