Archbishop Chapelle High School is proud to celebrate Elizabeth Hamilton ’25, who has been selected as one of six local student-athletes to receive a prestigious $10,000 scholarship through the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s Women in Sport Scholarship program, presented by LCMC Health. This incredible honor highlights Elizabeth’s dedication to excellence, showcasing her achievements in athletics, academics, and community service.

The scholarship recipients were chosen by the New Orleans Sports Awards Committee, a group that recognizes outstanding student-athletes from the Greater New Orleans area. Elizabeth’s well-rounded accomplishments and commitment to making a positive impact made her a standout candidate for this prestigious recognition.

Elizabeth, along with the other honorees, will officially receive her scholarship at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Sports Awards Banquet presented by LCMC Health on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in New Orleans. This event celebrates the achievements of outstanding athletes and contributors to the sports community in the Greater New Orleans area.

Sophia Fay '27 Takes on Fashion in NYC! This summer, Sophia Fay '27 had the incredible opportunity to attend a prestigious fashion program at LIM College in New York City. Alongside other high school students, Sophia spent the week immersed in the fast-paced world of fashion, gaining hands-on experience and exploring her passion for design, styling, and marketing. During her time at the program, Sophia honed her skills in sewing, styling, and advertising. She worked with a professional team—including a model, photographer, hairstylist, and makeup artist—to plan and execute a real photoshoot, bringing her creative vision to life. One of the most exciting moments of her week was visiting the Tommy Hilfiger showroom , where she got an exclusive preview of the Spring-Summer 2026 collection —a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the future of fashion! Beyond the classroom, Sophia also explored the vibrant streets of New York City, soaking in the energy and inspiration that only the Big Apple can provide. A Future in Fashion Sophia’s experience not only gave her invaluable skills but confirmed her passion for pursuing a future in the fashion industry. Her creativity, ambition, and willingness to step out of her comfort zone are an inspiration to all of us at Chapelle. Congratulations, Sophia, on this incredible achievement! We can’t wait to see where your talents take you next.

Riley Mumphrey '26 Explores CSI at National Youth Leadership Forum We are so proud of Riley Mumphrey, a current senior at Archbishop Chapelle, who took her passion for CSI and law to the next level this summer by attending the National Youth Leadership Forum: CSI & Law . This incredible 8-day program at the University of Maryland brought together students from around the world to dive into the exciting world of crime scene investigation and the legal system. Here’s what Riley had to share about her experience: "The National Youth Leadership Forum: CSI & Law was an 8-day experience at the University of Maryland where students participated in classes, listened to speakers, and engaged in hands-on simulations. These students from across the globe were given the opportunity to take evidence from the crime scene directly to the courtroom." Riley’s Highlights from the Program Hearing from detectives, FBI agents, and members of the Innocence Project . Learning the different processes for gathering evidence from various crime scenes. Collaborating with students on the law track to present evidence in a trial and determine a verdict. Exploring the University of Maryland, George Mason University , and the sights of Washington, D.C. Participating in hands-on evidence analysis, including fingerprinting, handwriting analysis, hair/fiber identification, and blood splatter pattern examination. Pushing Boundaries and Growing Confidence Riley reflected on how this experience impacted her both personally and professionally: "I am so glad that I was able to have this opportunity. By attending this experience by myself, it pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraged me to meet so many new people, confirmed my interest in CSI, and allowed me to enjoy Washington, D.C. once again. The program was extremely organized and gave me the ultimate experience of a lifetime." A Bright Future in CSI Riley’s time at the program has only solidified her passion for pursuing a career in crime scene investigation. We are so inspired by her courage to step out of her comfort zone, her dedication to learning, and her commitment to exploring her future career. Congratulations, Riley, on this amazing achievement! Your Chapelle family is cheering you on as you continue to follow your dreams.
