The offices of Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy and Representatives Steve Scalise and Troy Carter will be hosting Service Academy Day at the University of New Orleans on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 9:00AM - 12:00PM.
The event will be in their University Center Ballroom, with registration opening at 8:30AM and the event beginning at 9:00AM. All high school students and their parents are welcome to attend for free.
Representatives from America’s Service Academies, including West Point and the Naval and Air Force Academies, will make presentations on what their Academies have to offer. If a student gains admittance to one of those Academies, they will graduate with a bachelor’s degree and become a commissioned officer in our Armed Forces. Additionally, the three Academies mentioned above are tuition-free. They also plan to have presentations from ROTC units attached to Tulane University, and a presentation on the Congressional nominations process. Students must receive a nomination to be considered for admittance to most Service Academies, and most nominations come from Members of Congress.
Later, students, parents and other attendees will be able to visit the booths of the Service Academies, ROTC units and Members of Congress, and ask questions.
