This year’s Chapelle Open House proved to be one of the biggest and most exciting ones yet! Preceding our Open House, on November 1st, NOLA Family Magazine announced their 2023 Family Favorites winners. Chapelle won in three categories: Favorite Summer Camp Program, Favorite Private High School and Favorite Private High School Principal, Connie Dantagnan. Our Head of School was also named Runner Up for Favorite Middle School Principal for Chapelle’s 8th graders.

However, these honors were nothing compared to the excitement generated by the great reveal of our state of the art, newly renovated library, known as the St. Joan of Arc Center. Prospective Students and their families were formally introduced to The Arc (Academics, Research, and Collaboration) Center by their Chapelle Student Tour Guides, starting at 4pm on Thursday, November 2nd.

There was a perceptive buzz of positive energy in the air as each Chapelle Family Member, be they Faculty, Staff, Alumnae, parents, and students alike walked through the Arc, some of them for the first time. As a result prospective student families were greeted with many warm smiles, genuine enthusiasm and pride generated by their ever present love of Chapelle and compounded by the new Library.

The hopeful future Chipmunks and their families toured campus and were encouraged to participate by asking questions of their Chapelle student tour guides, Chapelle students who were on hand pursuing their own special areas of academic interests, or by competing in games offered by different areas of academic studies.

All the while, the prospective Chipmunks were greeted and cheered along by enthusiastic members of Chapelle’s STUCO. They were also treated to performances by the Chapelle Cheerleaders, our Chorale, the Hi-Steppers, Chapellettes, and the Raider Band. Open House 2023 concluded in the gym with displays and representatives of various Chapelle Clubs, as well as specially designed backdrops designed for memorable photo opportunities of the special events. However, this all paled in comparison to the centerpiece of the final celebration on campus, the spectacular display of desserts paired with the largest candy bar the campus has ever seen.

We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who helped to make the 2023 Chapelle Open House the best one yet. From the people who planned, designed and assembled every amazing display, to Parent, Student and Alumnae volunteers that helped us to put our very best foot forward for all Future Chipmunks to see why this is the place we call our Home Away from Home. It would not have been possible without your help.

On Friday, April 12, our student body witnessed the 2024 Sudden Impact Louisiana Mock Crash on Chapelle's campus. The purpose of the Mock Crash each year is to bring awareness to the effects of driving while impaired, driving while distracted, and refusal to wear a seat belt while a vehicle is in motion. Thank you to the talented student actors, public safety partners, Chapelle Counseling Department, and other school faculty for making this impactful event possible. As news around the world buzzed about the April 8th Solar Eclipse, Chapelle High School became fully prepared to make this a truly stellar viewing party for our students. Each student received their own personal pair of ISO-approved safety lenses so that they could see the eclipse in style and comfort. Although it was a cloudy day, everyone enjoyed this rare occasion right here on campus.

Students from a variety of elementary schools spent a day on Chapelle's campus! Our students had the opportunity to show them their classes, give them tours of our buildings, eat lunch with them, and share what being a student at Chapelle is really like. It's so great to see new faces learn about our school and all of the ways our girls are challenged spiritually, academically and socially. We hope you had fun, Spend-A-Days!!! Check out all of the photos below!

Students from St. Therese Academy visited Chapelle's campus for an afternoon of fun with some of our seniors! We had Easter-focused activities and games, and we even had an Easter Egg Hunt around our courtyard area. Our girls genuinely enjoy hanging with the students from St. Therese, and we are so happy that we are able to do fun things like this! To view more photos, CLICK HERE!
