The First Step

FROM THE DESK OF MRS. PIERCE

Dear Prospective Parents,

I can only imagine the excitement you are experiencing as you consider the educational journey that lies ahead for your daughter. At Archbishop Chapelle High School, we understand the deep significance of choosing the right environment for your daughter's growth. Our commitment to fostering academic excellence, spiritual awareness, and social grace sets us apart as a premier all-girls Catholic high school. Our foundation is built upon the values of compassion, integrity, and faith, which guide every aspect of our educational approach.

Academically, your daughter will be empowered to explore her passions and unlock her potential. Our dedicated faculty members are not only experts in their fields, but also mentors who inspire intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. We offer a wide array of rigorous courses that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that every student finds her own path to success. Through collaborative projects, engaging discussions, and hands-on experiences, we equip our young women with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in an ever-evolving world.

Spiritual development is at the heart of our mission. We believe in nurturing the whole person, helping your daughter build a deep connection to her faith and educating her for eternity. Our entire school environment is based upon guidance, support, and opportunities for prayer and reflection, enabling students to explore their spirituality in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Through service initiatives and community outreach, we instill in our students a sense of responsibility towards making a positive impact on the world.

Equally important is the social development that occurs within the walls of our school. Here, your daughter will be part of a sisterhood that celebrates diversity, fosters genuine friendships, and promotes mutual respect. Our small class sizes encourage close connections between students and teachers, creating an atmosphere where everyone is seen, heard, and valued. These connections not only enhance the learning experience but also provide a supportive sisterhood that lasts a lifetime.

As the Director of Admissions, I assure you that your daughter's individuality will be cherished and nurtured. Our commitment to her growth is unwavering, and we are dedicated to providing her with a well-rounded education that prepares her not only for academic success but also for a life filled with purpose and fulfillment.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our Admissions Office to schedule a visit or ask any questions you may have. We look forward to the possibility of welcoming your family into our community.

Warmest regards,

Starting a New Chapter in your Life

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:19

Right now, uncertainty may be swarming around you. What if I make the wrong decision? Which school is right for me? Should I choose this school even if I am leaving all of my best friends from elementary school? These questions, among many others, may be flooding through your brain.

However, today’s reading reveals to us that, even through the stresses of deciding which high school to attend, God knows your anxiety. In a world of such confusion, God wants us to turn to Him for guidance. Through all of your toughest, most stressful situations, God has been present by your side through the storm. Isaiah 43:19 assures us that we can find joy and peace in new beginnings, through new experiences while meeting new friends to accompany us in our walk with Christ. Even though choosing a high school decision can be stressful, we can find comfort knowing that we have great beginnings forthcoming. I encourage you to pray about your high school decision and ask God for Spiritual Direction in this difficult time. The Chapelle community will be praying for you, and we are confident that you will make the right decision through God’s abundant graces.

Combating Nervous Feelings & Worry

"If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.”

Matthew 6:30-34

In this moment, wherever you are, Jesus is with you. He is ready for you to swing open the door to your heart. He wants to provide for you, comfort your heart, and take your worries and anxiety and bring it to the cross with Him. God sees and hears every unknown, every uncertainty, every change, and every worry for the future. God knows the plan He has for you…”plans for welfare and not for woe,” so why do you worry about the things only He has control over? You are His daughter, and like a good father, He is there. He knows the trials, confusion, and concerns you have. As you are choosing to apply to Chapelle, it is only right that you are nervous, excited, or worried. Jesus recognizes all of your fear and emotion and wants to comfort you and make you happy. No matter what you do, you cannot mess up God’s great love and desire for you. Take a moment in silence and say this: Dear God, calm my nervous heart, remind me that you are always with me. In times of uncertainty, remind me to open my heart to your will, to trust in your plan for me. Help me to be present in this time and not to dwell on the past or present as the big decisions, firsts, lasts, and forever memories are being made now. Guide my heart to see your Son and allow Him to take my worries and leave me with a new, peaceful heart. Help me to always remember, God will provide.

Trusting God's Plan for You

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

It may seem very overwhelming at this point in your life, deciding, “What school will I

spend my high school years at?” Visiting schools, especially at Open Houses, can give

you a lot of clarity, but the decision still seems to be huge. What school will I be most successful at? Will I make friends there? Will I have fun? Will I fit in? It may seem like a lot is on your shoulders when choosing where to spend the next 4-5 years of your life. You’re not sure if the place you choose is where you are meant to be. While it is important to choose a school that caters to your needs, this verse from the book of Jeremiah assures us that God has a plan for us. God already knows where you will end up going, wherever you choose. And the beautiful thing about God’s plan is that it is not dependent on our own power.

We can have peace knowing that the Lord is constantly using our circumstances to bring new and good things into our life. God will not lead you in a direction that is harmful to you. Sometimes, it may seem like our path is completely confusing, and we may be wondering how our situation plays into God’s plan for us. Do not worry, and have hope! As the verse says, God knows the plans he has for you. God knows you and He knows your heart so well, that He knows the perfect plan for your life that will lead you to happiness and holiness. All you have to do is trust in Him, and “all of your paths will be made straight”(Proverbs 3:6). So, wherever you choose to go, be at peace knowing God has plans to prosper you and give you a hope and a future in the context of any high school.

The Power of Prayer

“Ask, and it will be given to you: search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Matthew 7:7-8

Thank you, Jesus, for the power of prayer! As disciples of Jesus, we are all called to follow him down paths especially designed for us. Your path right now is to be a Chapelle student! Congratulations, Jesus has heard your desires, and invited you to draw closer to him at Chapelle! In the Bible verse, Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given to you.” How wonderful is it that Jesus hears you and always provides for you? And how much greater it is that He chooses us, even when we do not choose Him. Always remember that you are His beloved daughter and “Deus Providebit!"

Look at the image, close your eyes, and imagine you are the lamb. Say these words: “Jesus, thank you for always being there. Thank you for always having my back; for choosing to listen to me, even when I fall silent; for loving me, even when I do not want to love you; for following me as I go astray, just as the lost sheep. No matter how far I go, no matter where I go, I know you will always hear me and love me. Jesus, thank you for my answered and unanswered prayers!”
