The Grandparent's Club
The Archbishop Chapelle High School Grandparent's Club was formed in October 2016. With a membership of about 40 grandparents, they provided a “Treat Day” for the students 3 times during the remainder of the school year, where snacks and homemade goodies were sold to the girls during the snack break. Club members also hosted a special breakfast for the faculty and staff during Catholic Schools Week.
With a present membership of almost 150, the grandparents are now pleased to see their grandchildren not only on six scheduled Treat Days, but at several early morning candy hand-outs as they come to school, greeting potential Chipmunks at Open House, participating in the annual Craft Fairs and many other school-wide programs. Members have a Social in August as well as 4 luncheon meetings a year, where representatives of the faculty and staff are welcomed and introduced. Grandparents are often called on to participate in many other volunteer opportunities at Chapelle that may arise during the school year. The Grandparent's Day Masses for each grade level are special times for the granddaughters as they celebrate together the liturgy of that day. They are proud of their grandparents for participating in one of the first such clubs in the New Orleans Archdiocesan high schools. |
The Lo Steppers performed for the students, faculty, and staff and proved that they are the best dance team on campus!
Celebrating Mass with our granddaughters is a truly special experience.
