Clubs

Ambassadors
Archbishop Chapelle High School student Ambassadors promote the mission of Archbishop Chapelle High School within the community through recruitment and positive public relations. Members serve as Open House tour guides, High School Night representatives, and student mentors. The club helps to organize the Spend-the-Day program, sponsors Chapelle Pep Day and Founders' Week, and participates in summer dessert parties and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Campus Ministry
Chapelle’s Campus Ministry Program provides spiritual growth and faith development to every Chapelle student. Some Campus Ministry programs and groups include the Guardian Angel Program, Adopt-A-Family, Retreat Team, Eucharistic Ministers and Liturgical Dancers.

C.A.V.E.
Chipmunks Against Violating the Environment is a special group of students who promote awareness of environmental concerns. Some C.A.V.E. projects include phone book recycling, beach sweep and Save Our Lake.

Chapelle Cheerleaders
The Chapelle Cheerleaders promote spirit at Chapelle pep rallies, volleyball and basketball games, and lead spirit in general at Chapelle. Members attend various district and state competitions as well as an annual summer camp where they learn new building techniques and cheers.

Chapellettes
The Chapellette Dance Team is the exclusive auxiliary unit to the award-winning Rummel Raider Marching Band with Archbishop Chapelle High School.  In addition to performing at football games and marching competitions, the Chapellette Dance Team  continues to add to its prestigious image by being invited to participate in many state and national dance competitions.  The Chapellettes also perform locally with the Rummel Raider Marching Band with Archbishop Chapelle High School. for a number of Mardi Gras parades.  All members of the Chapellette Dance Team attend an annual summer camp where they learn new dance routines and auxiliary equipment techniques.

Class Officers
Each grade level has an elected group of officers.  This provides an opportunity for student to acquired practice in democratic procedures and to promote the general welfare of the class.

Family and Consumer Studies Club
This club promotes an interest in Family and Consumer Studies and creates an outlet for the expression of individual talents. Students explore techniques in cooking, sewing, interior design and housing. One of the Family and Consumer Studies Club’s projects includes making special fabric bags to assist women who have recently undergone breast surgery.

French Club
The purpose of the French Club is to educate club members about France and other francophone countries and foster interest in the French language and heritage, particularly as this applies to the French heritage of Louisiana. It also strives to create understanding and enthusiasm for French culture and the francophone world, stimulate interest in the study of French and provide access to the French speaking world, its art, cultures, language, and literature.

Garden Club
Members of the Garden Club have an interest in learning about plants and flowers. The club was developed to preserve and promote the butterfly garden that is located on Chapelle’s campus, and use it as a learning tool. Some Garden Club activities include guest speakers on gardening topics, planting and weeding, flower arranging, taking garden tours and participating in community events.

Gifted and Talented
This organization provides students with opportunities for in-depth exploration into areas of interest which are beyond the high school curriculum.

Health Nuts
This club is very health conscious and interested in fitness and nutrition.  Aerobics, Jazzercize, weight training, guest speakers, cholesterol screenings, and training for local races keeps this club in shape.

Hi-Steppers
The Hi-Steppers are the featured dance group at Chapelle. They perform at Chapelle volleyball and basketball games, student pep rallies and community events. Members dance in local Mardi-Gras parades, attend various district and state competitions, and attend an annual summer camp where they learn new routines and dancing techniques.

Impressions
This group provides an additional spiritual outlook while singing for liturgies. Members meet weekly to select music and rehearse for upcoming liturgies.

Intramural Sports
Intramural sports promote spirit and sportsmanship and are designed for fun and enjoyment. Students participate in friendly competition during their 50-minute lunch periods, and winning teams from each lunch period compete in play-offs to determine the overall winner for each sport. Awards are given to each of the winning teams.

Key Club
The Key Club is a national service organization for high school students that serves Archbishop Chapelle High School and the community. Members participate in Kiwanis bingo, district and international conventions and numerous service activities.

Matthew 25 Service Program
Members of the Matthew 25 Service Program understand that when we give our time to others, we grow in return. Any Chapelle student who performs a minimum of 20 hours of community service at a non-profit organization, and submits these hours to the Matthew 25 coordinator are honored each year at a special breakfast. Students who volunteer over 50 hours receive a certificate of recognition, students who volunteer over 100 hours receive a letter, and those students who volunteer over 200 hours of service receive National and Presidential Awards.

Mu Alpha Theta
This Math Honor Society’s purpose is to increase awareness and interest in Mathematics. Members tutor students who need additional help in Math during Math lab hours, attend monthly meetings and participate in Mu Alpha Theta district meets, tournaments and the state convention.

National Art Honor Society
The National Art honor Society recognizes artistic talent and sponsors artistic awareness on campus. Members participate in local art competitions such as the Cox Cable Art Contest and sponsor seasonal art activities like the pumpkin painting and Easter egg design competitions. Members also design and sell Big Sister/Little Sister T-shirts.

National Honor Society
The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in students of secondary schools. Chapelle NHS members must have a 3.6 GPA on either a 4.0 or 5.0 scale, no grade lower than a C-, must be enrolled or have been enrolled in 4 honors courses, must be active in at least two other Chapelle organizations, and must have an acceptable discipline record. NHS students serve as peer tutors, buddies for eighth grade students, and participate in service projects.

National Junior Beta Club
The National Junior Beta Club promotes character, develops leadership skills, encourages service involvement, recognizes achievement, and provides technological advantages to students in the eighth grade at Archbishop Chapelle. This service organization’s motto "let us lead by serving others" is exemplified in the various projects performed by members at school and in the community. Some of these projects include fund-raisers for charity, Boo at the Zoo, food and clothing drives, and district and state conventions.

National Spanish Honor Society
The National Spanish Honor Society is a club that promotes the study of the Spanish language and culture. Members take an interest in the Spanish language and are willing to give their time to teach others to do the same. Some of the NSHS activities include an induction ceremony, service, tutoring and other projects relating to Spanish culture.

Newspaper
The Word, Chapelle's newspaper, is published quarterly be students interested in journalism.  Techniques in interviewing, copy writing, photography, communications law, and editorial review are implemented to produce a paper that includes current events, school information, and student life.

Photography Club
The photography club is a B club that is designed for students who have an interest in photography

Psychology Club
Students who join the Psychology Club have a chance to explore different topics and fields of interest in psychology. Some past topics and educational sessions discussed by members have included information about, therapy dogs, art and music therapy, fears and phobias, multiple personality disorders and eating disorders.

Archbishop Rummel High School Band
Band members from Archbishop Rummel and Archbishop Chapelle High School are provided with the full advanced band experience of both marching and concert bands. The band plays at all Rummel football games, competes in regional and state competitions, and are featured at each school during the year for a special concert. Band members are awarded with a trip to Disney World every other year and participate in the Disney Main Street parade.

Science Fiction and Fantasy
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Club helps students explore the world of Science Fiction and Fantasy through books, movies, discussions, and guest speakers.

Science Olympiad
The Science Olympiad Club helps students promote and develop an appreciation of and interest in science by participating in hands-on science activities. Science Olympiad is for students interested in having lots of fun building science-related objects. Some Science Olympiad projects include the egg drop, nature quest, bridge building and bottle rocket activity.

Showstoppers
The Showstoppers performance group gives students the chance to dance with popular, jazz, and Broadway music. The group participates in an annual Christmas Concert, Spring Concert and the Garden of memories and Autumn Serenade concerts.

Student Council
This enthusiastic group of students makes every effort to strengthen the bonds of unity between faculty and students and to develop the high standards of Christian womanhood. All students elect Chapelle’s Student Council officers and representatives; however, all students are invited and encouraged to participate in Student Council activities. The Chapelle Student Council sponsors This is Your Day weekly awards, Outstanding Student of the Month, Student Council Week, locker awards, spirit days and school dances.

Studio 2-B
A division of Girl Scouts, Studio 2-B prepares young women for real life situations and experiences by exploring career options, completing community service projects, and participating in self-esteem building activities.

Thalians
The Thalians give experience to Chapelle students interested in theater production. Members serves as the cast, set designers and lighting crew for Chapelle theatrical productions scheduled twice each year.

True Life
True Life is a group of students who promote self respect for the sanctity of all human life through Catholic doctrine. They attend pro-life rallies and pray the rosary at local abortion clinics.  They enjoy guest speakers, retreats, and pro-life ceremonies.

Varsity Quiz Bowl
Varsity Quiz Bowl members represent Chapelle in academic competitions against other high school teams. The group meets weekly for practice games with students and faculty.

Videography Society
Students interested in video techniques and serve the Chapelle community by video-taping Chapelle events for prosperity.

Yearbook
The Chapelle yearbook, Reflections, is produced by students interested in learning publication techniques and capturing the memories of the school year through photography, layout, and copywriting on professional publishing software.
