The Eighth Grade Candlelight Induction Ceremony, held on Tuesday, August 11, began with a welcome by ACHS Principal Cathy Yaeger.

The prayer service, led by ACHS Campus Minister Lyn Moore, included scripture readings by Johlee Schinetsky, Student Council President, and Madeline Ruiz, Campus Ministry Executive Board. Taylor Gorman, the National Honor Society President, reflected on her years at Archbishop Chapelle.  Taylor encouraged the students to work diligently on their academic studies and become involved in school activities.

During the ceremony, each member of the 8th grade class received a candle that was lit by a member of the Administrative Team to officially signify their membership in the Chapelle Family.

ACHS President Jane Ann Frosch introduced the students to their new Chipmunk mascot. She explained that chipmunks are the friendliest of all the animals.  They usually keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, scurry up trees and even go out on a limb if the situation warrants. As the Student Council Officers, National Honor Society President, and the Campus Ministry Executive Board distributed Chipmunk pins to the members of the Eighth Grade Class, Mrs. Frosch challenged the Class of 2014 to emulate their mascot.
