2012 Alumna of the Year Nomination Form

2011 Alumna of the Year

The 2011 Alumna of the Year is Millie McNamara Moore from the Class of 1968.  Millie received her undergraduate degree from Nicholls State University and a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University.  She is married to her husband, Carl for 37 years and they have three children, Stele, Sean and Colleen (ACHS Class of 2007).

Millie has worked at Tulane University in the Health Science Library since 1974, where she is currently the Coordinator of Collection Management.  She is an active member of the Medical Library Association, the regional medical library association, has chaired committees and has held offices including President of SCC/MLS, the regional medical library association and was awarded that association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2005.

She is an active member of St. Christopher Parish where she coordinates Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers.  Millie has been a member of the St. Christopher Pastoral Council since 2001 and has been President since 2006.  She was active in the St. Christopher Home and School Club serving on committees and also as President while her children were there.  She was awarded the Order of St. Louis Medallion for service to the parish in 2003.

Millie is an extremely active alumnae at her alma mater and serves as the secretary for the Archbishop Chapelle Alumnae Board.  She became involved with Parents’ Club as soon as Colleen became a student and chaired several committees and served as treasurer and corresponding secretary.  Carl and Mille also chaired Prom Fest for two years and have been chairs of the decorations committee for the Emerald Gala since 2004.  They look forward to chairing the Emerald Gala in 2012.

“When we look at the profile of a Chapelle graduate, Millie excels in every criteria, through her volunteerism in support of her alma mater and her church parish, through her spirituality, her relationship with God, through her support of her family and through her professional career,” explains ACHS President Jane Ann Frosch.  “Millie truly exemplifies what it means to be a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School, and serves as a role model to all of us.”
