Catholic Identity:
Marian Devotion

The patroness of Archbishop Chapelle High School is Our Lady of Prompt Succor, whom we honor daily in prayer. Students are introduced to Our Lady of Prompt Succor as they begin religious studies and become knowledgeable of the important role Our Lady of Prompt Succor played in protecting the city of New Orleans from fire in 1812 and in the Battle of 1815 that defeated the British forces. We honor Our Lady at liturgy on August 15, The Feast of the Assumption and on December 8, The Immaculate Conception of Mary. We commit ourselves to Mary’s protection within our daily rosary recitations in class and in the chapel. We crown Our Lady with a traditional May Crowning each year and include our Chapelle grandparents at that celebration.
